A group of artists has been asked to lighten the faces of children depicted in a giant public mural at a Prescott school.

It sounds like knee-jerk reactions, starting from passers-by to the councilman and then to the principal. The principal is just making an excuse knowing full well that the mural was based on photos of actual kids who attend the school.

Take that back!! He just really cares about the fineness of the chiaroscuro dude.

The real story here is the neck-and-neck race between Arizona and South Carolina for who gets to be crowned Most Embarrassing State. It's a nail-biter.

omg taxpayer money going to improve the appearance of a public elementary school while at the same time allowing the students to participate in a major art project that will enhance the community!?

Apparently it isn't much of an "enhancement" if it stirs up this much sh*t. My vote would go for no mural...no $5000 waste of taxpayer money...and no controversy over something that was unnecessary in the first place. I went through public school in the USA without murals in any of them. I don't feel cheated in the least.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

So true. Political correctness is sending this country right down the toilet. Why is the biggest picture a "minority"? Because if it were of a white kid instead all we would hear about is how they had discriminated against people "of color". 90% of Prescott is white, so there should be 9 white kids and one minority kid. Or a really big white kid, 9 times bigger than the hispanic kid and 100 times bigger than the black kid.

thank you for pointing out the obvious.

you are now and hence-forth banned for being insensitive to brown people. i mean it.
