Hi fellow VJ's... can we/my husband apply for my health insurance now while waiting for the approval of my AOS. We sent our package for AOS last April 30th and i've taken my biometrics last Friday May 28, 2010, i received a letter from the USCIS that my documents was transfered at California Service Center at the same date. My husband want to apply me as dependent or be covered of his health insurance now but we're not sure if we can do it while waiting for the approval of my permanent resident card...

I will gladly appreciate all your help and advice...

Health Insurance doesn't care about your Immigration Status. I added Anna & Gabby while they were still in the Philippines as my Open Enrollment is October and she had November interview date.

What Insurance cares about is having a "Qualifying Event". Marriage, Open Enrollment or Loss of other coverage are all qualifying events but you usually only have 30 days from the event to use it as the qualifier.

Have him add you now.
