I had a real tough interview. I was asked all sorts of questions, and my interview must have lasted about 20-25minutes. The major setback had to do with our marriage occuring close after hubby's divorce from his previous marriage. Previous marriage started and ended in less than in a year. So according to the CO, it made our marriage seem suspicious. But after 5 years and 2 children........!!!

I was able to answer most of his questions best as i could. He asked what hubby does? checked the stamps on his passports (he asked for copies of his PP, thank God, i had them with me!)to see his goings and comings. Asked how many siblings he has, how many was married. Asked what job the co-sponsor does, asked if he was married, if he had children, where does he live, where does he work.

If I had ever applied for a visit visa b4, and so so many more questions.

At the end he gave me a letter to the High Court requesting them to authenticate the divorce certs. A second letter stating that i was refused visa under section 221g of the law for insufficient documentation, to rebook another appointment with the embassy when i have the requested document ready.

So far...

Got the needed document from the Courts and already sent the email requesting for another interview date.

My question now is this: what happens next, does anybody know? Would i have to go through the whole interview drill again? or would they just deal with the requested document?

Pls tell me if u know.

F2A from my husband, for me and our children.

We would all like to be able to say No problem In any sane consulate that would be the correct answer. But you are dealing with Lagos. Joseph and I were denied the first time because he couldn't tell them details of my classified work. Good grief , if he had been able to answer that question we both would have been in deep trouble. As it was I had to fill out an attempted espionage report against the officer. There is no logic to that place. Just go with all your papers and think in the back of your head that the visa is at hand. Attitude is everything.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I second what Nigeriaorbust says: Lagos Consulate is a tough consulate. They are very unpredictable with very high demands. Just give them what they asked for and pray for the best. My husband has been to that consulate 3 times. Who knows, depending on your CO, hopefully you should be fine. All the Best.

Thanks Nwayioma. I would go back to ur posts and see what and what i might get out of them.

Can u kindly tell me though, was ur fiance drilled all over again when he took copies of ur passport to them? or was it just a case of him handing them the copies and that was it? I am truly really dreading having to go thru the whole interview thing all over again, it was quite unnerving.

Also, how were u able to get an ur subsequent interviews quickly? i sent them 2 mails already asking for a new date but all i keep getting is the auto-response.

i wld really appreciate ur response.

thanks for the re-assurance! thanks a lot. what happened with urs? 221g as well? is there a link to what happened at his embassy that i can read?

So, went for the second interview yesterday, only it wasn't really an interview. I sat down for a long time and watched so many being interviewed. After a a while, a nigerian staff called me to the window, and apologised for keeping me so long, and asked for the certificates that i was asked to verify, she took them and asked me to wait a little more. At the end, they interviewed everyone, until it was just me and my children in the hall.

Finally, a Consular called me to her window and asked if i was been attended to and i said i dont think so. With my passport she called up my case on the system. Asked me for the verification letter, stamped it and wrote something that looked like "verified"or "verification", after which she gave me the infamous case in Administrative Process" letter, we will write or call you.

My question is, do they still go and verify the verification letter? if they do, why bother to ask me to go verify it in the first instance? or is it just a normal procedure to follow for any document verification?

pls, comment on this if u have anything on the matter tro say. thanks.
