Just thought I'd post a quick message about our AOS interview today in Columbus, Ohio. Our appointment was at 8am so we got there about 7:50, went through security and sat and waited until 8:30 to be called back. The female agent was very businesslike at first but was very nice and to the point. All she did was go through the forms we had sent in and ask us our names, address, DOB, phone number, whether we had children. She also asked Paul some questions about being arrested or illegally obtaining immigration benifits. She was reading them off the form and checking them off. She checked our ID's and Paul's passport then asked for our certified marriage abstract (that's what you use in Ohio instead of a marriage certificate). And that was it! We were in the waiting room longer than we were in the interview. Interesting note to people going through the Columbus office: the office where you do your biometrics has moved from the third floor to the sixth floor. This was the first day of the change (they don't do biometrics on Mondays) so a lot of people were coming up to the third floor and the security guards had to send them to the sixth floor. So just an FYI if you have a biometrics appointment coming up in Columbus - go to the sixth floor. ha ha!

Oh by the way, she said Paul was "approvable" (whatever that's supposed to mean) and he should get his greencard in 4-6 weeks! YAY!

"Approvable", huh? That's cute...but if she knows you will be getting a green card, she might as well say "approved"! Congratulations!!!

May 12, 2005...... NVC sent petition to embassy

June 14, 2005..... Fiance received Packet 3 from embassy

Dec 20, 2005 ..... Interview -- visa issued!!!

Dec 27, 2005 ..... Fiance arrived in US

Dec 30, 2005 ..... We got married!!!

AOS / EAD

June 7, 2006 ...... Mailed AOS/EAD paperwork to Chicago Lockbox

June 8, 2006 ...... Realized that we failed to send passport photos for I-765;
awaiting RFE!

June 9, 2006 ...... AOS/EAD package delivered

June 15, 2006 .... NOA issued for AOS/EAD

July 1, 2006 ........ Biometrics appointment

July 3, 2006 ........ AOS & EAD touched

July 17, 2006 ...... AOS transferred to CSC

July 21, 2006 ...... CSC received AOS case

July 22, 2006 ...... AOS touched

July 25, 2006 ...... AOS touched

July 26, 2006 ...... AOS touched

July 28, 2006 ...... AOS touched

July 31, 2006 ...... AOS touched

Aug 4, 2006 ........ AOS approved per case status on USCIS website!

Aug 9, 2006 ........ Welcome letter received

Aug 10, 2006 ...... Green card received!!!

01/01/2010 - finally an update - awaiting interview letter

02/08/2010 - interview (Garden City, NY) -- PASSED

03/03/2010 - Oath Ceremony in Brooklyn

03/13/2010 - U.S. Passport in hand

Thanks for all the congrats! It was really kinda a whirlwind interview. I even had to ask Paul how long she said it would take for him to get his green card. ha ha! That "approvable" comment threw me off a bit, but I know it's good news! I was kinda dissapointed she didn't want to at least look at the wedding pics. I even grilled Paul last night about who was in the pictures! ha ha! I knew he knew the answers, but we were practicing! Oh well, just waiting for the GC and happy to be done for a bit!

December 13, 2007 - I-751 submitted to NSC (removing of conditions fun begins...)

December 22 - Received a rejection notice because the form was not "properly signed". Package itself was not returned.

January 1, 2008 - Received packet back from CSC. They are requesting we resubmit the packet (which is already organized by CSC) with a properly signed form.

January 2 - Packet resubmitted to California.

January 12 - NOA1 received (dated 01/07/2008)

January 19 - Biometrics appointment notice received (dated 01/15/2008)

February 1 - Biometrics

March 11 - Approved! Card production ordered (notified via e-mail).

March 20, 2008 - New card arrived in the mail :)

Done until 2018 :)

Congrats...sounds similar to our interview! Was she a young lady? Anyhow, best of luck. The GC should arrive in 2 to 3 weeks if ours was anything to go by!!

Yep! With a long, hard to pronounce name! But she was nice! Can't wait to get that GC!
