Hi everyone,

Sorry! I came to this thread late. My I-751 case is a divorce waiver and I'm under CSC. A little of my background here, I was in a 5 / 6 year relationship with my ex-spouse until he cheated and walked out on me in addition to physical, emotional abuse, numerous threats and other dramas which caused me injuries, distresses and trauma that I'm still recovering. My case may be a little complicated and to be honest, the divorce waiver waiting game really stresses me out.

Here is my timeline in case anyone is interested:

I-751 Mailed: 4/1/16

NOA1 Date: 4/4/16

Biometrics Appt: 5/26/16

Hi kikat, sorry to hear what you've been through, the double stress of relationship and I-751. Eventually we go past this super anxiety stage. I've read extensively on other waiver cases on this site and others, and do not find many rejections at all and when it happens a lot of the times it's a technical issue (missing a mail etc). If I were asked for advice I'd say keep the routine and live low-key till this period is gone.

Worst case you get RFE and interview. When your case passes normal processing time do make inquiries just in case you miss anything in the mail. For a divorce waiver (not abuse waiver) the most important evidence is the evidence of being together during "good times" from start of your marriage to separation. Long history of romance and obvious reasons for separation count a bit less in my opinion according to uscis standards of approval. Good luck!

Hi Chicha,

Thank you for your kind words and advice. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle everything by myself during the difficult time so I have an attorney helping me out in regarding to the I-751 divorce waiver petition. My attorney told me to check both divorce and cruelty/abuse boxes at the same time as he told me there were elements and evidence of abuses in my relationship. I've had quite a bit of bona fide evidence accumulated over the past five years. However, I forgot to save all the copies when I filed adjustment of status the first time. I was unable to retrieve some evidence I submitted the first time like medical insurance, dental insurance etc.. However, I did my best and gave my best shot. The cover letter was over 10 pages describing everything over the course of my relationship, marriage, ex. cheating on me, threatening me and physically assaulting me a few times etc.. I've also seen a therapist since the beginning of the year but unfortunately the clinic was not able to write me an evaluation letter (probably because the therapist is an intern and I couldn't afford to see a psychologist at that time). Hopefully I will be able to find another one soon who will be able to help me out and write me a letter describing the abuses I've been endured.

I read your previous posts on the forum a little bit and saw what you've been through. Congratulations on your green card approval and now will be a new chapter of your life. I wish you the best!!!

I wish you the best too! The files you submitted for AOS do not need to be repeated, unless it shows continuation. I even included K-1 meeting in person evidence in I-751 petition that turned out to be unnecessary. I included medical insurance tax form and dentist statement second time; I had marriage therapist affidavit first time, and sent individual therapy notes with reference to marriage second time (RFE).

It's a tough period and you'll laugh one day when you look back. I really got into the habit of envisioning worst case scenarios and would advise anyone against that. Then it turned out to be more of a waiting game than possibility of denial. School, work, volunteer...routine kills time and keeps the mood up. I am grateful the final exam prep periods helped me go through the summer!

hi Kikat. Welcome to the divorce group :P

I also went thrugh cheating, I attached some evidence of him corresponding with others, but that was all i could attach. We luved in marriage for almost a year when I found out about cheting, tried to repair it but it is impossible obviously...

Yes, keep yourself busy. I kno it is a difficult time of waiting but there is nothing we can do. Find hobby, go out etc. Try not to think about the process. When it comes it comes.

I just wish for all of us to wait the normal processing time, and not to have any trubles.

Hey Chicha, any notification on USPS piking up your card?. I think it will show up in the mailbox without the notification

Nothing today. Did myusps.com help you? For some reason I cannot pass verification. I was given some questions that don't fit either me or my landlord. Really hope this won't be an issue.

No. myusps.com does not show anything so far. I am wondering whether the post office has not scanned it yet. I have seen some folks receive their cards without the tracking number showing up. Might just show up tomorrow just like that. Let's hope that is the case.

I've read that people receive cards without anything showing up first (physical approval mail, online status- all can be skipped). Perhaps I'll follow the instructions for once and sit back till Oct 23. I can finally focus on job search now and would be very happy if some employer hands me a I-9 form within a month :D

Hi Everyone,

I just wonder if anyone here received any update on your I-751 status. I know 2 or 3 of us here are April 2016 CSC filers. I've been trying to see if there are any waiver cases filed on January, February or March 2016 but I couldn't find any (or at least there were no clues on those topics / threads). The holiday season is coming up. I kinda worry they will slow things down and push our file further to the beginning of 2017 :/

If I recalled correctly, the I-751s processed last year were really quick. It only took them 3 or 4 months for CSC filers. Divorce waiver cases are generally 4-7 months. But I noticed towards the end of last year, everything slows down suddenly somehow... ...
