Thanks! I doubt i will be trying it because its a 2 hour drive away so i wont go unless i have to.

Ahhh that would have driven me nuts! I understand peoples curiosity and can accept some questions or corrections, but to say somebody speaks the "Wrong" English is just insane! If we are understanding each other, we are all good, if not, its usually the small town person we are talking to who needs to broaden their horizons!

On another note, i sent my package today! (5/8/14). Its tracked and should arrive on Saturday.

Hello all!

I received an RFE today asking for my divorce decree and more evidence of good faith marriage. Oh and also asking for "identity document" such as driver's license? I've never heard of them asking for that hmm....

Well I'm kind of stuck now because divorce in California takes at least 6 months and they're asking for all this to be submitted by August 11th :(

Filed: Timeline

Just to give hope to those who are divorced before the conditions are removed from their permanent residence, I was divorced from my USC husband after 15 months of marriage, yes, not even 1.5 year. During the marriage he shared with me his sexual organ and let me stay in his house. I was also allowed to use the kitchen utensils, to cook for him, and the washing machine, and the vacuum cleaner. Wait... He entrusted me with his livestock and the farm too. But my name was never on anything: property, lease, will, vehicles, or any financial accounts. No children either, thanks Lord!

The strongest evidence I could provide was the medical records, which showed him as my husband and emergency contact and my severe depression and broken bones and other injuries. And joint tax returns, of course, (until this year when we were divorced and I had moved out and filed my own tax returns he still fraudulently filed jointly using my name and SSN).

And as I could not afford an attorney, I prepared the ROC package myself and it took time. I submitted it three months after the divorce was granted and it was approved 2.5 months later, no REF, no interview.

So, my message to you is: Don't worry about removal of conditions if your marriage doesn't work out. And filing to remove conditions ways after the divorce is granted is fine too. Oh, by the way, don't waste money on attorneys.

Good luck.

I feel like this thread is dead, but anyway, I went in for my interview yesterday morning and was approved. Yay! The lady was lovely, super nice and understanding, didn't put the heat on me about anything - it was more like a clerical meeting than an interview. Apparently there's still a background check that they forgot to do, but once that's cleared they'll be putting my order in for the 10 year GC. I'm happy I can move on with my life :)

I'm sorry nobody responded to your last post. I wanted to say something, in fact I knew you would be just fine, but because I was neither interviewed for the AOS nor for the ROC applications I felt I was in no position to advise or share anything.

I was extremely paranoid while I was with my ex. Depression led to paranoia and then in its turn paranoia led to more depression. But after I'd left him things started to look up. Even though I didn't have much evidence and the marriage was short I was not worried at all about the green card thing. I was confident that I would be ok.

Congratulations on your unconditional permanent residence! And thank you for sharing with us.

Good morning Everyone

seems like not many people follow this thread much anymore. hopefully i will still get some advice and help from you which is the purpose of this thread in the beginning.

I got married in June 6 of 2012 and my conditional green card was granted in December 11 of 202 (adjusted from F-1 visa; i never over stayed on my visa, not even a day).

My conditional green card is expired December 2014 which is less than 4 months from now. me and my husband decided to get married due to the fact that he lost the feeling for me. i know that i will have to file for divorce ASAP which is i will due to the fact that i'm going to file for divorce waiver. And because it will be uncontested so i'm praying that it wont take long.

here are the list of evidences that i will send in my packet:

- completed form I-751

- personal check for 590.

-copy of my 2 years green card (back and front)

- letter from ex-husband to be mom outlining our housing situation(we help paying utility/mortgage) and also attest that we entered in this marriage in ood faith; things just did not work out for us

-copy of mine and his driver license to show the same address

-photocopy of jointly tax return of 2012 and 2013(transcript from the IRS)

-copy of car insurance policy showing my name under his car insurance policy from 2011-2014

-photocopy of bank statements from when we open until this day

-photocopy of American Eagle bank statements; me as primary card holder and my husband as authorized card holder due to his credit

-copy of joint membership to L.A fitness gym

-copy of receipt when me and him attended my orientation at university

-photocopy of my school personal information showing him as emergency contact

-notarized letter from him admit that it's his fault that leads to the divorce

-letter from me explaining every single details from the day we met until the day we get divorce

-2 notarized letters from friends attesting our marriage (one is a mutual friend of us, and we met through her; one is my cousin, who i used to live with and then i moved out to move in with my husband)

-pictures of us, with family on holidays.

estimate since we got married til the day the divorce is finalized we should be married for almost 2 years and half

please help me look at the list of evidence i'm going to send and give me some advice. thank you for your time reading this post of mine.

Is your divorce finalized yet? I would suggest you wait to file the divorce waiver until you have a divorce decree in hand. If that's impossible, you will get a RFE for that and it will only draw out the whole process. The list of evidence looks great to me.

thank you so much for responding

i'm going to file for divorce soon, and it will be no-fault divorce, so it shouldn't take long. I have a question, does it matter who file for divorce? and the list of my evidence is good? we lived at his mom's house from when we dated, married and until now when we are getting divorce; so we didn't have any lease, or utilities bills. but his mom is going to write a letter to state that when we started living with her and how we helped with bills in the house. will it make up for the lease and utilities? except car insurance, we didn't have any insurance except car insurance my name is under his insurance policy. i really hope to not get RFE because that is all evidence i have. i don't mind going to be called in for the interview at all because i have nothing to hide or has to lie about; i'm confident to prove that my marriage was enter in good faith.

It doesn't matter who files for the divorce. My ex husband and I agreed with everything so my divorce petition was jointly. As long as the marriage was entered in good faith, that's the only thing that matters. I think the idea to have his mom write a letter stating the living situation is a good thing. I'm also a divorce waiver. It's been 3 months since I filed and I haven't received any RFE yet. I didn't sign a lease with my ex husband but we had bills showing that we shared the same address.

I will keep you posted.

When does your conditional residency expires? Please know that you will have to file the I-751 divorce waiver before your greencard expires even if your divorce is not final.
