I was wondering if anyone is going through the same thing... I have searched and searched and havent been able to find anyone in my situation... here it goes:

Husband had his interview in New Delhi on the 27th of May. I was able to attend the whole interview with him :D I watched the whole process.. finger prints, pre-interview <checking all our papers> and then finally the interview.. The Lady who did the interview made us both take the oath... and then she preceeded to ask me the questions... very simple like how we met... bla bla bla.. then she wanted to see some photos... then she looked at me and smiled and said I want to wrap this up really fast so flip quickly... so I did... while I was flipping she asked me if my family attended the wedding and I gave her a great big smile and said yes, they attended via web cam mom, dad, brothers, aunt uncles and grandparents... here let me show you... I fliped to the couple of pages where you could see my computer and web cam in the wedding ceromony... she started laughing and said I have seen enough... she scribbled some things on the file of paper work.. and then said congrats you are approved you will have your visa in 1 week... I then asked her if it would be ok to pick it up at the VFS office.. she said sure no issues with that... then we left on cloud nine  she didnt hand us anypapers/slips nothing... we just walked out smiling

Sooo... From the VFS website and other ppl I have talked to I know that within 3 buisness days we should of been issued the visa.. when this did not happen I called the embassy and talked with a guy... and he told me that we were put on AP.. I was like what!!!! I couldnt think..so I let him go... collected my thoughts and called them back.. <I think this is what irritated the next lady :( > This reallllly rude Indian Lady is who I talked to next.. I asked her about hubbys visa and she again told me that we were put on AP... I asked her why the Interviewer told us that we were approved... the Lady said that she didnt know that they were going to put him on AP... then I asked why wasnt he given any slip or paper.. no 221g nothing... she said she couldnt disclose this... I then asked if the embassy puts everyone on AP she said no only a few.. I asked her how the Embassy would contact us if they needed any additional information or to let us know about the visa and she said that I would come to know.. I could see that I was getting nowhere except on her last nerve.. so I asked her how long should I should expect my husband to be on AP, she said that normal is 4-6 weeks and that I could call back next week to check on the status..... so now I sit in the firey pits of hell... I meant in India at a nice guest house... confused..

sooo please direct me... I know that I might never know what this AP is for.. but I have racked my brain.. if they were doing a name check.. my god wouldnt you think they would have already done that? Background checks.. I mean ugggh.. I really wish the Lady doing the interview wouldnt of smiled at me and said "Congrats you are approved" it is kinda like a horror film.. the smile and the voice is even comming in my dreams!!!!

as I am writing this Hubby is singing..... "You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.Feel the city breakin'And ev'rybody shakin'

And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.Ah, ha, ha, ha,Stayin' alive.Stayin' alive.Ah, ha, ha, ha,Stayin' alive.

Well now, I get low and I get high. And if I can't get either I really try" gotta love the freaking BeeGee's!!!!

I think it's cool that nothing was asked for, and that they have his passport.

IMO, it's still some name checks.

If you get a moment, call DOS Hotline (# in my profile), get a Human, and inquire for casefile status. They'll be 24 hours behind any embassy update, but at least you don't have to futz about trying to get someone at the Embassy (who may or may not have the right access to the computer when you call in ).

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

thanks for all the info everyone... I have not called DOS yet, I am going to call them once I get back to the US.. .. so my plans are to call the Embassy tomorrow and see what they say.

I wonder whats the fastes anyones finished AP is  is it unrealistic to think that we could have the visa this week? I have been going over red flags and everything that could put your case on hold and neither one of us have anything.. he has never applied for a visa, no criminal past, never been arrested... etc... same here on myside... soooo my thinking is that it has to be a name check... but even his last name is so uncommon that I wouldnt think that it would take long...

Oh well... and I thought waiting for my NOA2 was bad... and then I thought NVC was hell... my God!! it doesnt compare to this :(

Dont feel to bad my fiancee was approved May 7th at the kingston embassy all the lady said was we were approved and I was with him at his interview.

Also at least you know you are on AP. I still can not get a response from them.

I am sorry :( typically the K-1 visas fly by without an issue... Keep trying to call them hopefully you will get and answer soon

I'm sorry, dear. Hang in there.

Just the basic facts about your case and given that it's New Delhi (which is a high-fraud Embassy unlike Mumbai or Chennai in India) is enough to warrant an AP.

Obviously there's no time-table to AP but given that you had a good interview experience (not like the other horror stories from Delhi) and that they kept his passport is probably a good sign and hopefully, it will be a short AP.

I called the embassy today and talked to the same female operator that I spoke to last week... I used a different method on her this time.. instead of extreme panic and frustration i was cool and calm  She told me that our case is under mandatory administrative processing, it is being reviewed now and to call back the end of the week or begining of next week... <sigh> humm...she also said that each case is different with different processing times, some take shorter amount of times compared to others..<is that a glimmer of hope> what she didnt say was 4-6 weeks like last week
