Hello from Italy!

I had an interesting experience at the airport. First the passport control guy didn't ask me any questions or even look at me. He just stamped my passport, grunted, and pointed for me to go. I guess he assumed I don't speak Italian (he was right). Then, I went to pick up my rental car and they told me it wasn't confimed. I was like WTFFFFFFFFF here is the confirmation! Anyways, I they gave me a car and when I got into it I looked at the receipt and they authorised my credit card for $2000 for a $700 rental I was like MORE THAN DOUBLE??? Anyways, it doesn't matter but it still surprised me.

I drove on back roads through the mountains to get here. The roads are sooooo narrow and have really sharp curves but it was totally worth it. I have finally mastered roundabouts

Tonight is one of the two nights I have internet where I'm staying. The place is owned by a family and only the daughters speak English. The non-English speaking parents came in and asked me if I needed anything and I was just like umm...no? I feel bad I can't even say just a bit to them in Italian. Anyways, they went out and picked me tons of cherries from the trees on the property and also brought me two big bunches of roses. At least I know how to say thank you.

Now I'm sitting outside on the balcony listening to the crickets and uploading pics. Was a good day. I don't think it would have been as relaxing if my sister was here.

Nagi ~ I'm getting used to packing up my stuff. It's quite rediculous that they can't figure out where to put me. However I heard I'm going to be staying in that area until at least September so who knows. There's a ton of work over there.

on another note, IT IS FLOODING DOWN IN TEXAS....

we were ten inches short on rainfall totals, some local areas got that in a 24hr period!!!
