It seems to be normal here.....except my outer space isn't filled with vileness like the kind I've been seeing in OT by certain posters.

I don't think that thread that you are intimating about is any worse than the latent and apparent racist threads and posts that continue unabated. I guess it's a matter of what is acceptable to you, but for me, racism is far worse than a few swear words posted in jest. Both people got a suspension as they undoubtedly should, but I think that's a bit of an exaggeration to suggest that it's as bad as you say.
