Ok people still in the USCIS phase. I see on the time lines, people putting case touched. How do you get that info?! Thanks in advance!!

09/29/2010: DS-3032 Choice Of Agent emailed to NVC

10/06/2010: DS-230 IV fee ($404) online payment

10/07/2010: DS-230 IV status 'PAID', IV package mailed out

Touches mean your file was handled in some way. Each file has a bar code and when the file is handled, the bar code is swiped and it changes the "last updated" date on the USCIS website.

Now, the file could be handled because it was sent to an adjudicator. Or it could be handled because it was counted, moved from filing cabinet A to filing cabinet B. Or maybe it was moved to another room due to a leaky pipe. Touches rarely mean anything of consequence - it doesn't mean an approval is imminent and many people do not get touched before an approval.

To add a touch to your signature, you first need to establish a signature in your profile, then add the touch

I love my case been touched even if it's because of leaky pipes. But I only had one touch so far. :(

Don't read too much into the "touched"...my case as well as others went from NOA1 to NOA2 without any "touched".

I'm doing the same now. I know for a FACT that nothing will change today. But doesn't that mean I won't check the case status a few times today? No. I will check it and re-check it again and again. I think we're all OCD'd.

I haven't called USCIS a single time yet. I think I might do that today or tomorrow, if time allows.
