Just wondering if anyone knows where one can purchase a region free DVD player in the USA? I have asked at so many places and they have never heard of them and the comment is , well, this is America we only sell region 1 code here, In Australia they were available at many places. I have a large collection of dvds that now i cannot play :crying:

Ditto that,

Debs bought me a Cyberhome DVD player from walmart (about $30 also available from target). I found a hack online to make it region free and it works a treat.

I actually posted the hack on here a while ago... I'll see if I can find it !!

Edited to ad... Here it is

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I posted about this a few weeks ago in the UK forum (for my husband's UK videos) After a bit of research online I've found that region free DVD players are easier to get than a VCR that will play on NTSC - aka "USA TV". So what I've found is you can get a VCR that will play the tape but you either have to have a converter to convert it to play PAL on a NTSC TV or you have to have a TV that will play both PAL and NTSB. Whew! So what I have is the converter to play PAL - so I can see the picture ok but the tape drags in the VCR (you know - it sounds like the tape is going to be eaten any second). So looks like we will be hitting the electronic stores sometime in the near future! Hope this helps! And if you find anything good, be sure to let us all know!

I have the same DVD player and the hack was easy to do (after a few shots of practicing!) I have no issues with playing US and UK DVD's on my Cyberhome!

When I get a chance, I will check the model we have...it is region-free for both DVDs and tapes. It works great.
