Hi somebody can help me? i have my young sister and she was asked for my dad's wife (she is american) but my sister only have a few days in usa and she say she doesn't be there for more than 1 month and she still has to wait for the card, so i don't know if she can return to colombia for 1 month and then return to usa with her resident visa?...she is 17 years old and the next month she will be 18 so that could be a bad thing for do that?...if somebody know something about this please let me know every help could be great in this moment thank you...:)

she needs to wait for the greencard. Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on visa type.

Has the USA Spouse filed any AOS for the mother and daughter, yet? (K-1 visa)

or was it a CR-1/CR-2 visa ?

Just to help me out, please tell me which visa the daughter (yer sister) used to enter the USA ?

IF CR-2, there is a possibility that yer sister's visa was stamped, at POE, with a stamp that VALIDATES the CR-2 visa to be used as a temporary green card (I-551 stamp) for up to 1 year. Ask her to check what's stamped in the visa.

Could also be IR-2 visa, as well (same stuff as CR-2 visa, for that one year stamp).

Dan talking this time. Happy to report from down south here in Colombia that Little Sis is adjusting much better now to her new live in the USA and is no longer feeling quite so homesick. Mom still misses her a lot here, but is glad for her that she´s feeling more comfortable now at dad´s place. I suspect that once we have our K1 approval and Vanessa is with me at our own place in Florida her sister will probably be a frequent visitor with us from their dad´s place up in New England (probably after the first big snowstorm, LOL...)
