F 1 student getting married to a US citizen soon

Hi there! i am an International student who came to US through F1 visa (student visa). i just finished my RN college. i am still in good status with immigration. i do have a social security card and driver license and had been in a legal status with immigration. Now i am about to get married to a US citizen and i need to apply for a greencard. can u please tell me as what all forms i need to fill out and how long this process takes. I mean what happens after i file all the applications and how long it takes to get the greencard. i am also planning to work as an RN. so do i have to apply for a work permit? if yes, how long it will take to get the work permit. please i need some help with these questions.

You and your spouse will have to file for Adjustment of Status (AOS).

You need to submit forms I-485, I-131, and I-765 all at the same time. It will take two to four months until your AOS petition is approved and you will receive a green card. In order to work you will need to wait for the work permit. This too might take a couple of months.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . .
