Sorry to hijack this thread with a lengthy post, but I'm new to this and I just want some clarification. (and also say not ALL lawyers are stupid)

From what i'm grasping from this toppic, the OP is frustrated because her lawyer is waiting for a written notice from the NVC before taking action to submit the supporting docs?

Which means, the supporting docs can be sent before the notice is in hand?

If so, I see how this could expedite the process, but by much as 3-6 months? how?

For the bold question, there are three times you mail papers to NVC and two fees paid separately. The conventional way (not the lawyer way) is to wait for NVC to request something, then deal with the request and send it back. For the five different instances of two-way communication, using the conventional method takes about three to four months if you waist no time responding and longer to much longer if any time gets waisted in response.

The shortcuts we advocate here, tend to complete all five activities within six to eight weeks. It used to be as fast as four to six weeks but NVC has slowed down on their part the last few months. The only things "cut" are the waiting times, not the actual activities or paperwork.

So, yes, using the conventional method (again attorney or not) can delay the interview by three to six months, usually more like two to three months though.
