Where the heck is it!

I'm going to try posting this as it's own thread one more time.

Since the physical reorganization of the main forum page (a few days ago), the Embassy and Consulate Forum is now buried.

As this is probably the most important portion of the visa process itself, I feel it needs moved to a more prominent location.

As evidence of my theory, at the present moment only the top four topics in that forum have had comment since midnight Tuesday. Does not seem like much traffic.

What say you all?

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

I would tend to agree - it (US Embassy/Consulate Discussion) is pretty far down the ladder - now even farther with the non-family visa forums.

Ewok had mentioned/asked whether there should be two 'embassy' forums - one for family based and one for non-family. Not sure about that, but the existing one might be better off somewhere between 'DCF' and 'Bringing Family Members..' (IMO)

Agreed that it should be promoted. It's bad enough that organisers have to move so much stuff into there -- maybe moving it will help people help themselves. :)

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

For the sake of organization, if I move it to the family forums then people with other visa types will not have a forum for that. That is why I moved it to a category that was basically for "government offices". Potentially two forums make sense, one in each, but I am not sure. The "Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)" forum kind of goes hand in hand with that forum too and would be odd by it self. I am open to a general re-org to help, but would like ideas that create overall organization and consistency.

Maybe you should just toss that whole category up into the first category?

I am not sure moving the entire category makes sense either. The Service Center forum applies a lot more than just the visa stage.

Kind of an off-the-wall question:

Would it make any sense to leave the forum where it is and to add a Forum-link in each 'visa/immigration-category' that all lead to the original? (Mostly aesthetics but, this might encourage member. use)

I had thought about that. Potential solution for sure. My only concern is that it would add "space" and push other things down by a tad. Thoughts... good balance?

It might be worth a try - for at least the K/Spousal section (see how it goes before adding it to non-family) - eventually that space may be recovered if/when the K-3 goes away.
