Waiting for Visa

So I had my interview (montreal) on Thursday, May 27th and I was approved. Today is Wednesday, June 2nd and I'm waiting ever so patiently for my passport to arrive in the mail with my Visa stamp. My husband is still here and needs to be back to work tomorrow. I was planning on going with him today, but if my passport does not come, I can not go. I called the Consulate this morning to find out if the stamp was actually completed and if they had mailed it. I spoke to a very SNOTTY, UNFRIENDLY woman who told me it could be 2 months before I get it. She kept saying "they" don't have the information I'm looking for. I questioned her about who "they" is....am I not calling the correct place? She said "they" don't accept phone calls and to check the tracking #. Tracking # shows nothing on the website. I'm getting very upset about this. I just want to know when I should be expecting the package. I would hate for my husband to leave today, and it show up tomorrow. And on the flip side, I would hate for him to wait until Monday to leave, and it not come for 2 weeks.

Anyone have some insight here? Or some encouraging words, I'm really irate at this point.

5/17/13 USCIS website states: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

5/24/13 Paid AOS ($88.00) fee online

5/30/13 Emailed I-864 package for both kids

6/3/13 paid IV bill $230 x 2 kids

6/5/13 IV bill shows paid, DS260 available

6/14/13 CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS ARRIVED!!!!

6/14/13 filed online DS-260 for both kids

6/16/13 emailed Supporting docs for DS-260 for both kids

7/9/13 CHECKLIST for both kids...sad.png

7/9/13 checklist response sent (birth certs and passport Bio Page <again>)

8/2/13 CHECKLIST both kids

8/3/13 checklist response sent (I-864 AGAIN and paystubs - sent last 6 paystubs)

8/28/13 ***** INTERVIEW SCHEDULED***** for 10/9/13

9/11/13 Medicals completed in Toronto @ Dr. Seiden's office

10/9/13 INTERVIEW APPROVED

10/25/13. SSN cards arrived

I know it's frustrating!

Here are my thoughts - definitely keep checking the site to track your package (Canada Post?). With the weekend, they probably wouldn't put it in the mail until early this week. Also, remember that Monday was a holiday for the U.S. so the Embassy definitely took it off. I'm thinking by the end of this week you should have it.

Well I just called the Consulate back, and of course the same woman answered. This time she was friendly with me and said that she checked into it. She said it was given to Canada Post this morning. i checked Canadapost.ca and sure enough at 9:15am it was accepted. I purchased next day priority express, so hopefully Canada Post will deliver next day.

Your right about Monday being a holiday and they probably took it off. I was thinking they took Victoria Day off like the rest of us. OH WELL...the good news is that I can now track it on the website :)
