Welcome Notice/GC Delivery Time

Hey everybody,

I have recently been issued DV1 diversity visa and have 6 months to make the trip. I have initially thought that the GC is sent over 2 weeks after POE but after reading through many forums got to know the procedures. My question is: what could be the average time for Welcome notice delivery and if that affects green card delivery? I mean, does one have to confirm anything after getting the welcome notice letter or there is no interruption and welcome notice delivery and green card delivery is performed simultaneously?

I have two options to choose from:

a) come on around mid-late June for one week and then return at late August (September, if needed, the green card should have arrived already by that time?)

b) come on around late June and stay for two months (would that give enough time to get the green card?)

I'd love to be back by September to my home country thus it is why I try to do it over summer, I also prefer spending July at my home country so I'd prefer second approach.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Auridas

Me and my wife entered to the USA in the end of February this year through DV lottery-2010 Visa. I am the principal applicant and my wife got visa as my spouse. We both already have received our Social Security Number Card on time. After about 20 days to the entering date we both received welcome Notice from USCIS about our file and in between one month my wife received her Green Card but I didn't get my Green card. In the mean time I changed my address online through USCIS website. After one week they send me "ASC Appointment Notice" to my new address to capture my biometrics. I appeared just time to the directed Application support center and they captured my biometrics. After then it has been past one and half month but I still didn't get my Green Card yet. I checked USCIS website case status and it shows that my case is in initial review. I do not know that what is happening. It has been already four months past. Please let me know when will I can get my Green Card?
