Hello guys. I need one information from yourside. I have a USA fiancee and I want to visit her in couple of months. Her parents will send me an invitation letter. I'm just asking if they ask me"do you have a fiancee" in the US should i say yes or no?

I'm affraid they don't think that I won't return or anything. I have strong proof that I will infact return, like a steady job in a good company+bank statements so the whole package.

So as I said my question to you guys is it smart to say that you go to visit your fiancee?

Why would the parents of "some girl" who is not your fiance but . . . . uhhh . . . send you an invitation letter, asking you to fly across the World and visit?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Hey there Eddyy..

I advise you to SAY THE TRUTH. It's common that beneficiaries of I-129F travel to USA to visit their fiance(e)s if they are able to obtain tourist visa. If you provide strong proof that you will be back to your country (economic and social ties), everything should be just fine. So if they ask you do you have a fiance in the US, say YES (besides it's her parents who will be sending an invitation letter). If you say NO and they somehow find out- you can only get in trouble later ending with denial of K1 or something.. You never know. But if you are honest and still don't get your tourist visa, be patient and wait for a couple of months until you get your K1.

Good luck.

I agree with Bob, why would they need to send you an invitation letter? And more importantly, what is sooooo important that it requires you to visit...

I am not being mean but you have to look at the facts and make you decision accordingly.

Thanks for your help:)I will do that. I mean I don't have any reason to lie because I intend to return anyways.

But what do they mean by strong ties? I mean I have a solid job, get good salary so would that be sufficient?

I agree with Bob, why would they need to send you an invitation letter? And more importantly, what is sooooo important that it requires you to visit...

Well her dad will send me the invitation letter because he works for the US government so him sending me an invitation letter will be more credible?

About the invitation letter. Should there be in any template or form? What should it contain? Is it better my fiancee to send me an invitation letter or her dad?or both?

Thanks guys!

I would suggest you not lie on an immigration form or to an immigration officer.

Your visa will be granted/denied based on your strong social and economic ties to your home-country.

Tourist visas are always a ####### shoot. 50/50 chance of getting one.

You will need SIGNIFICANT and OVERWHELMING ties to your home country in order to convince the CO that you will not overstay your welcome in the U.S.

There you go. You gave a plausible answer to the question asked, should it ever come up.

You seem to lack the capacity to understand the underlying reasoning of my question-and-answer game. There are certain things I cannot say, cannot suggest. But I am allowed to nod silently without getting in trouble when you say them. Now you did, got the answer to your question, I nodded, and you look like a lost sheep. I can only lead the way, but if you don't follow, you are not going anywhere. :bonk:

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your"help" but I would ask you to refrain yourself from making an input in this thread from now on because between trying to help and be an #### you are succeeding in the latter;)

Guys now about the invitation letter. Is there any specific format or a template that can be followed? Is it better the letter to be sent by my fiancee(she is in grad school) or her father?

Please be civil.

You will find some helpful information in this link: Visitation FAQ's

Thanks, this was very helpful. The thing is we still haven't started the K-1 visa process and will do that once I return from the States. I don't want us to over complicate things.

Thanks one more time...

To me, that whole "invitation letter" is complicating things. Unless they are from a very strict background, I cannot imagine why her parents are even involved or why that would prove anything.

More importantly, there are some people on VJ who have a wealth of information. Some of them are Moderators. They have been here for a long time and have just about seen it all. Others are normal Members who have also been here for a very long time. When both type speak, I suggest you listen up. JustBob falls into that category. He can be rude, but what he says usually makes more sense than other people just guessing... And for the record, I don't think he was being rude to you, this time.

Hi Kittyfang. Ok so from my side I know which documents I will need to apply for a tourist visa. The thing is I looked on the state department page and they don't mention any kind of documents that I will need from my host family,gf whatever but I read that they might come in handy.

So my question is which documents I will need from my fiancee's side? Or maybe her family since her father works for the government and has a good position there so he can send me an invitation letter with some US government stamp where his position and job function is stated? Isn't that credible? We will be staying with them too so that is why I'm asking this.

So these are the facts and I just want to know in which way I can organize my travel visa better. I intend to come back because I have a job and everything and I just want the U.S embassy to notice that.

I am in no way knowledgeable about the K-1 visa, but from what I've read from other people, it's the first time I see someone receiving an invitation letter. I think usually, they are more worried about you proving that you have ties in your country. But as I've said I am in no way knowledgeable about the K-1 visa.
