again, not what i asked you. i'm not talking about the us cutting funds and supplies. i am talking about establishing an armed blockade, where ships would be boarded in international waters to prevent food and building supplies from getting through, and no one would have access to fuel to heat their homes in the winter or or to fill their car so they can drive their child to ER in the middle of the night if they have trouble breathing. (though not much could be done at said hospital, because aside from some tylenol not much else in the way of medical supplies is allowed in by the blockade). would you be behind that then?

I do not disagree with the blockade, but yes I think Israel is wrong in what it actually blocks.

Definitely not food or medical supplies. Building materials....not sure I'd be worried what they my be appropriated for. Timber, that's fine but maybe not steel, concrete, or CMU.

Simply, because decades of conflict and armed resistance does little but radicalise the population.

More directly, because Israel effectively sidelined Yasser Arafat and silenced the PLO. Then you had the Bush administration who pushed for elections in the Palestinian territories, despite being warned about what the likely result would be.

The major reason is that Hamas was the de facto government, not Fatah. You could ask the same question of the US, "Why did they elect Obama, instead of McCain, even though he is leading the US to destruction?"

Of course, some of us were more afraid of McCain than Obama.

How about considering the possibility that no good choices have been offered to the Palestinians, by the Israelis, or by their own leadership?
