Sorry but I have another I-134 question. I just got my tax return trascripts from the IRS(all 4 pages for one year) I thought it would be just on one page anyway, my question is what part do they look at? wages and salaries(for one) but do they look at my gross farm income? or my taxable farm income? There is a big difference in the two and if it's taxable income I'm a little short for the 18,220. Another thing is I do have assets to cover the difference but not sure how to prove that I have them, I own livestock free and clear and the only record of them is when I pay the state taxes on them, do you think that would be enough proof that I do own them? and that the numbers are right? and how would I prove what there worth? If I went to buy them it would cost me about 1,000 a head, would a copy out of the AG papers showing what cows are selling for be enough proof? Any other ideas? :help:

I would like to thank and everyone who puts there two cents in and I would like to say this is a wonderful site and I'm not sure how a person would get thur this process without it! So thanks to all of you

OK, I myself am not well versed in the tax laws for farms and livestock.

I do want to tell you on the transcripts there is a line item for "Total Income." This should correspond to line 22 of the 1040 form which is Total Income.

That line is NOT Taxable Income nor is it Adjusted Gross Income. Again, it is your Total Income (after any losses such as Schedule C self-employment losses). It does not yet have the Tax Deductible items subtracted out so it is NOT the taxable income.

Good luck.

Your situation matches "self-employed". So, your current income and 2009 income where asked must come from line 22 of the 1040. Generally, if you can show you paid tax on something whether income or an asset, it is accepted that you had the income or owned the asset. If the State tax form for personal property or farm assets (not sure what yours actually is) is pretty recent, I would use that. If not, perhaps a statement from your accountant or banker would be helpful.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
