Need help!!! Nearly 30-days after entering US and still no PR/Green Card

I arrived here last May 2,2010.I received a welcome letter last May 11 and May 12.They send me the welcome notice twice.But until now I dont received my ssn and green card yet...When I try call USCIS its keeps saying that my receipt number is not correct.Im so disappointed now.Please enlighten me.Does anyone have same experience like mine?

You don't call USCIS for SSN. You call Social Security Administration. http://www.ssa.gov/ Find their number online and call them. Or go into their local office if one's near by. For PR card, keep contacting USCIS. You have have to use InfoPass to set up a face to face meeting if you get no answer. Give USCIS your petitioner's SSN to do a look up if they can't find it using USCIS case number. Call NVC with NVC's case number. Call embassy with embassy's case number. Just some ideas thrown out to you. Good luck.

Usually, the GC and SSN card shows up within 30 days.

Unfortunately, for the SSN card - it's 'hit or miss' - some get it, some don't.

Suggest you walk into a SSA office on Tuesday morning, and apply in your VISA name.

Bring birth certificate and Passport. Fill out the application .

Give it to the clerk at the desk. Then pay attention:

1. clerk finds you in SAVE database, application accepted - card shows up within 2 weeks.

2. clerk can't find you in SAVE database. Get supervisor to look again. No 'hit'? Come back in a week, try again. DO NOT allow the application to be processed if someone mumbles 'need DHS/USCIS electronic verification'. Come back in a week.

3. clerk finds you, but finds that number is already assigned . Do not apply, go home, wait 2 weeks. If no card, come back, and apply.

Hi IndigoSkies.We already went to our nearest SS office few days ago.And the guy told me I need to wait till June 2.Then If I dont hear anything or If I get anything in the time.I will go back to their office..I already try check my status in USCIS website but its said I need to wait 30 days from the date of my welcome letter...
