ok this im sure is a rally dumb questio.. however....

We have paid the AOS fee bill.. are wating for the DS230 fee bill to be generated... however what is the IV Bill ?... Is this known as something else ?

The payment of the AOS fee bill leads to the generation of the I-864

The payment of the IV Bill once generated and sent to you leads to the generation of the DS-230 which is the Immigrant Visa Application.

You can call that way. Basically, DS 230 is the Immigrant Visa Application needs to be filled out by the beneficiary. NVC generates DS 230 packet as soon as they receive the IV fee Bill and process it subsequently.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Filed: K-3 Visa Country: Russia

Aussie, after we paid IV bill, what's the best way to follow up on a case? Do we just periodically check with the Embassy? Will NVC inform us when case transferred to Embassy. Is tehre another step in between and how do people know?

Shortcuts RULE by the way , one month after NOA2 I am already paying IV Bill. I am so excited!

I hope you don't mind as I am answering this though you directed your question to Aussie. After you paid the IV bill, you need to follow up with the NVC. First the St Louis payment center will receive it and enters it into their system, then NVC will okay it subsequently. After that, NVC will generate the DS 230 packet. At this point, the Embassy does not know anything about your case. Embassy will be aware of your case only after NVC forwards your case to the Embassy. Therefore, you can contact Embassy only after they receive your case from NVC. NVC will send a letter when they will forward your case to the Embassy. You can also come to know about the latest developments by calling NVC and speaking with an operator.
