Newbie starter questions for K1 visa applicant

Hi everybody! I just have a couple of general newbie questions pertaining to the K1 visa:

1. can I use the form examples as a layout such as the Fiance Letter of Intent or Cover Letters? I really like the outlining of the examples. Or should I try to make it different incase there are a bunch of the same type of outlines being sent?

2. I was wondering Where did the information on assembling the I-129F packet come from? I went to my local USCIS and they just gave me the packet as it was; just the I-129F form, and two of the (4) G-325A forms. There were no assembly instructions what so ever. However, I visit this site and I notice that there are extremely organized assembling instructions including a Cover Sheet, Table of Contents, etc... I'm assuming this is how the more "professionals" do it and even attorneys use this format to make the process easier and quicker?

3. When sending in the packet, should I send in my originals or a copy of the original? I plan to make at least two copies as noted on the site's instructions, but can you photocopy the bills with the signature? Or should I leave signature blank, then make 2 copies, and then resign each one? (I hope this question isn't too confusing, I'll re-explain if it is.)

This is it for now, I think I will have some more again in the future.

As you can see, I truly want to be as perfectionistic on this application possible. I think I might consider hiring an attorney because I seem to have a magnitude of multiple questions even if they are minor or truly common sense, I seem to have a problem. I wish there was someone that has done this in the past or some consultants that can truly help me guide me step by step so I do not have to ask so many ridiculous questions. Sorry for much inconvenience as I am really confused about this whole process. I am glad I found this site. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to VJ

1. Yes you can use the samples

2. From years of members experiences with this process in conjunction with the information that is available on the USCIS website.

3. Original forms are required with original signatures. Any documents such as birth certificates & divorce decrees are submitted as photocopies as originals are no longer required. You better start explaining about the bills lol as it is 3.30am

4. You are only just beginning. Take the time to read through all the information here on VJ. Follow the guides, ask any questions if you dont understand something.....there is no such thing as a stupid question. We are all here for the same purpose, going through the same things. We all start at the beginning and it can seem daunting, but we are all here for each to help each other through.

Oh, sorry about the "bills" ; I am losing it a little, heh. It's late and I'm going crazy stressing over this. I meant to type the documents and forms. What I mean is type one form fully completed, then photocopy them so I have the copies. (I will also have saved the filled out forms on computer). Thanks again, though. Your help is truly appreciated. :-)

I felt the same way you did when I started the process in March. Just take your time and complete each section one at a time. Then set that document aside and go to the next document. I found the flow chart to be very helpful. I went down number by number and completed each section. I followed all of the suggestions and guides and haven't had any problems yet. My case has been sent to the embassy. Most of us here know what you are feeling but it really can be done. Of course if you feel like you need lawyer you should get one, but it is not a requirement.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
