I don't have the time to read all the posts beyond the first 4 pages, but I hope this means the military will allow gay couples to cohabitate on bases just as heterosexual couples do, as well as be eligible for any family benefits.

Join the military, get a boyfriend and let us know.

We all know what part of that statement you'll never do.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

What's lower than a homophobe? A drunken homophobe!

Speaking of terms like "homophobe"... why don't you offer a definition in which the vast majority of the people in the country (not to mention the world)..... don't qualify.

Having served in Canada's Army, navy and Air Force and Knew that some were "gay" wasn't a big deal at all! partied together, worked together. Was not an issue at all. What thinks your soo hot that they would be interested in you anyways? lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Look it up.

You see Danno boy, people can progress. They can learn to handle differences between themselves and others. They sometimes retain a bit of discomfort, but don't feel the need to institutionalize that discomfort at the expense of others. All of this goes straight over you head I realize, but understanding history, or even current events, regularly proves beyond you. You can admit to your homophobia, or try to deny it with your lame references to AIDS etc. But homophobia it is nonetheless.

Well the homophobia in most people doesn't really come from people being gay per se, it comes from those who are the loud and vocal one of the "gay community." -- Have you ever seen a Gay Pride Parade? - That's what the majority of so-called homophobes worry about is that Gay = Flaming/eccentric. While that's not the case and not what your 'average' homosexual is like, those people are the ones who are "loud and proud" and make the normal people seem non-existent.

It's the same case with any activist group. Be it things like PETA, the KKK, the Black Panthers, Fringe Socialists, Fringe Anarchists, etc. - Those people make the one's actually arguing good points seem like small voices amongst a group of wackos.

The gay community need more people who are much more calm/normal (like Ellen Degeneres for example) in their representation before the rest of society will calm down on the presence.

NOw there ya go, prattling on about **-phobia without daring to offer a definition in which the majority of people would not qualify.

Actually, I knew you would puzz out on me.

Point being, if the vast majority of people are disgusted or turned off by something ... that does not make it a "phobia" but rather a natural reflex.

Look, I am not trying to label you or anyone who supports "gay Rights" and not sure why you want to paint yourself as "more advanced" or "farther evolved" than most other folks, why not just respect differences of opinions on what is normal and natural?

I don't know of anyone calling for a "**-lynching-Party" so relax, society can't be all things to all people..... maybe to you gay sex is some -noble human right to fight for but to other people, other unconventional sexual practices are just as valid.

SO git off yur high horse.

And when he

"Partied together" with his gay friends, did they go to his bar or theirs?

:P

I actually played music in a gay-bar in trenton NJ years ago, actually it was more like a lesbian bar, I don't recall any guys. It was called "The rainbow... (something or another)"

And most of the patrons looked kinda like your average Aunt,

no fantasy type chicks in there .. thats for sure.

But they were a great crowd.

Why? So you can pretend that you aren't one when you so clearly are?

Canada has more than 3 Military branches & it's entirely possible to serve/have served in more than one branch, as it is in the US Military.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Started off in Army reserves as a grunt, transferred to regular force navy working with radar, etc in Ops room, then applied for and got a remuster to Air Force, working electronics on the P3C (Cp 140 Aurora)

Never had a problem with "gay" people, actually hate that term "gay' not sure why we have to label people. I had a problem with jerks, and they come in all colors, sizes and sexual preferences, lol
