getting my canadian passport renewed

Hi everyone! My son is getting married in Aug. and my Canadian passport expired 5 months ago. I know there is a quicker one that you can get now IF you have not changed your name and it is exactly the same as on your passport. However, my name has changed since I received my passport because I got married. Some of the requirements I do not have...like people I have known for the past 2 years. I have moved to Arizona in the last year and 1/2 and haven't known anyone that long. Also, I understand that you have to send original documents such as birth certificates etc. and that makes me more than a little nervous, considering we all know how things get lost in the mail etc. I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. It all looks like such a pain in the you know what. I am so excited about my son getting married though! Thanks for reading everyone. ps.s I can't wait to go to the wedding in Vancouver B.C.!!!!!! I haven't been home for 3 years!

Charles!!! Hi there! I can always count on you for a reply of some kind, even though I am not around much. Yes, my baby (26) hehe...is getting married on Aug. 14th in Vancouver. He was here visiting last month for a few days...I hadn't seen him in 2 years because he was playing professional hockey in Germany. Now, this passport thingy seems like a mountain to me...I don't know why...after all I did get through the whole visa process and paperwork on my own....maybe it left me scarred...i have paperwork phobia...I am so worried i will not get it back on time and who I am going to use to verify who I am...

How are you and nessa doing...so nice to see ya again!!!
