Need Help with Birthcertificate

I need someone from India to help us out...My fiance can not find his birth certificate so we need helped in knowing what to do... How can we see if the birth certificate can be obtain... We are going to the court and getting an affidative...but where do we go to see if they can find how much will it cost? Please help us if you are from India and you also had to do this...

My guy had to go to the birth registery place in his state (Uttar Pradesh). He got a certificate of non-availability and two people (his mother and uncle...since his father has died) to sign affidavits saying when he was born. We sent those items for our I129 petition and it was approved with those items. I have no idea if it cost him anything. He didn't say that part.

That is correct -- the New Delhi consulate has specific instructions in this matter and getting affidavits is part of it. It is on their website.
