I front loaded my I-130 with notarized letters from family and friends. I don't think they have to be done that way but that's what I did.

So I got an email today, requesting the DS-230 (which I sent out in the mail yesterday) saying that I have to include this barcode sheet (that they emailed me) when returning it.

I just included the document cover sheet from the online bill payment portal as I didn't have this email yesterday.

Same thing, right?

IF they do, then I honestly don't know what for. I sent them everything that I had. At least for the DS-230.

Maybe for the AoS though. Because my husband never filed his taxes through turbo tax. He just typed in and saved it to see how to do it through this program next year. I'm hoping they just want documentation in any way and it won't make any difference.

Oh the suspense. ^^

How is the document collecting going for your husband?

For the AOS, did he send in tax transcripts from the IRS? As long as he actually filed taxes, I don't think they will care (and as long as he showed that he filed them). I don't know how the collection is going right now. He is supposed to call me tonight. Hopefully it won't be yet another set back.

No he sent those documents from his own records. No IRS transcripts.

The information was complete though. I checked it myself and just removed the part with the state taxes.

Stupid question: does one ever get a confirmation letter that says something along the lines of "you filed taxes and are entitled to xxx payback"? Because we didn't have any "proof" per se, that he filed.

Just the turbo tax stuff, the INTs and the W2s.

Because I never got one when I filed for my 8 months that I worked in the USA. They just transferred the money to my account and that was that.

Stupid question: does one ever get a confirmation letter that says something along the lines of "you filed taxes and are entitled to xxx payback"? Because we didn't have any "proof" per se, that he filed.

Just the turbo tax stuff, the INTs and the W2s.

The IRS does not send a letter that you are getting a refund. They just send a check to you or in your case direct deposit it. This refund - if any - can be found on the first page of your 1040 form, which you fill and sign. It's almost like an honor system.
