hello guys.....My friend is really in a bad shape. he is not a VJ member so i am making this post for him....He was here in the US for 18 years now petitioned by his dad...He is NOT a US citizen yet...he studied here and worked here as a green card holder..but last January he got a DUI and his license was suspended...but then, though his license was suspended he was still driving and unfortunately got pulled over and his car was towed.....and he went to court for this...according to the judge if he plead guilty for driving under a suspended license (through DUI) he might be deported???? is this true??

No, not true.

Had he killed somebody while driving drunk with a suspended license, that would have been Vehicular Manslaughter which is a charge that raises some eyebrows, but while what he did was really stupid, it was not severe enough to be kicked out of the country.

thanks for your reply. yes i agree with you, what he did was really stupid....this is his first DUI offense. but what bothers him is, he had a previous felony when he was 21...he actually now is 33 years old...will it cause him problem knowing that he had a criminal record about 12 years ago?
