CRBA and entering the US question

My husband and I just had a son 12 days ago in Montreal Canada. My husband is an American citizen and I am a Canadian citizen. We are currently in Montreal but my husband is returning to work next week in Boston. We had an appointment for his CRBA but we just realized I can't go on my own since I am not an American citizen.

Is there any way to file it without having to do it in Canada? Husband is located in Boston. The baby will stay with me for now.

Other question is we would like to cross to the US for a bit of the summer. I have applied for an immigrant visa and have been approved for an I-130...I think all we're waiting on now is the interview. I have proof that I am on maternity leave and getting payments from the gov(have no intention of leaving Canada before my payments stop). If we try to cross before the baby receives his CRBA(how long would that be???), we will have his birth certificate with both of our names on it. Do you guys think we will be ok to cross? Or will they give us a hard time? We just wanna be together as a family.

Thank you very much any help is appreciated!!!

Why is your husband needed for the CRBA appointment? You should be able to go, just be sure you have proof of his presence at the time of conception and any other evidence they ask for.

BTW, you husband Petitioned for you to be able to apply for an Immigrant Visa and his petition (I-130) was approved which opens the door for you to apply for the Visa. Minor technicality I know but there is a difference. You have not applied for the Visa until the AOS & IV Fees have been paid to NVC and you've sent in the DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa.

We were told that the US citizen was the one who needed to attend the appointment. Is that not correct? If so could you state a source?

I should have been more clear but my I-130 was approved and we have also paid the fees + sent the DS-230 application.
