Okay, so after months of research and planning, the time has finally come for me to send in my K-1 Petition. I've assembled the packet and everything appears to be in order. For the entire petition, I 2-hole punched the tops of the papers and placed them into an ACCO type folder. I placed tabs on the bottoms of the pages to separate certain parts of the petition. After doing this I began to wonder if it was okay to stick these tabs on the actual documents since removing them will likely tear the pages. Is this okay?

Anyways, please review my list of contents for accuracy and tell me if anything is missing or could be improved:

Cover letter - used the one from the VJ guides but changed the listed contents to reflect my particular packet

Check for $455.00 - I stapled this to a blank sheet of paper

Form I-129F

I-129F Supplement: Explanation of how we met

I-129F Supplement: Certified Copies of Court and Police Records - I included all of the court records and all but one police record. One police record had been destroyed by the police department due to some law that requires them to do so for juvenile misdemeanor offenses once a child reaches 21. This is the only part of my petition that worries me but I included an email from the police department explaining this to me and a portion of the legislation highlighting the reason my record was destroyed.

One Copy of G-325A (Petitioner)

Two Passport style photos (Petitioner) in a ziplock bag stapled to a blank sheet of paper. Both the ziplock bag and backs of the photos are labeled with my name

G-325A Supplement for Employment last 5 years (Petitioner) - I couldn't fit the addresses in the space provided on the G-325A form so I attached a separate sheet of paper

One Copy of G-325A (Beneficiary)

Two Passport style photos (Beneficiary) in a ziplock bag stapled to a blank sheet of paper. Both the ziplock bag and backs of the photos are labeled with my fiancee's name

G-325A Supplement for Employment last 5 years (Beneficiary) - I couldn't fit the addresses in the space provided on the G-325A form so I attached a separate sheet of paper

Copy of Passport (Petitioner) - I scanned and printed every page of my passport instead of my birth certificate

Letter of Intent to Marry signed & dated (Petitioner) - I used the one from the VJ guide

Letter of Intent to Marry signed & dated (Beneficiary) - I used the one from the VJ guide

Copy of Original Divorce Decree & Notarized English Translation (Beneficiary)

Copy of Original Change of Name Certificate & Notarized English Translation (Beneficiary)

Proof of Having Met in Person - For this I included the following:

6 pictures of us together. I printed them on a regular sheet of paper and below each one I put the date of the picture, our names and where we were at in the picture.

Passport stamps - My entry and exit stamps from Ukraine. (The date on my exit stamp is not exactly legible. Is that a problem?) and my entry stamp into the U.S.

Boarding passes from both my trip to and from Ukraine

Document from Ukrainian Customs - I had to pay duties on the engagement ring I took the Ukraine for my fiancee. I felt dumb at the time for declaring its full value, but at least I got a very good document out of it!

Itinerary from Delta Airlines for my trip to Ukraine

A receipt from a restaurant in Kiev for which I paid with my Visa debit card and a receipt for an ATM withdrawal

And just for good luck I included screen shots of my email inbox filtered to show only my fiancee and my hundreds of emails.

Looks good except there should be not copies of G325a forms. It would be one original each bearing original signature. Probably what you actually did, but you wrote, "copy".

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thanks for everyone's reply.

pushbrk, correct I've included the original signed and not the copy.

Bernie C. yeah, I definitely made copies of the packet. Thanks for the reminder though!

jean&chard, hmm I'm not sure now that you mention it. I thought I read somewhere that I should send two so I just did two just in case. Perhaps someone who knows for sure can chime in and answer that for you because I'm not certain.

I only sent one passport photo of each person and our petition was approved like that. But I see no problem with sending two of each as well.
