i said 'i believe' not i know. is there no permit or visa for a migrant worker?

No, not permits. I am reading about this category now so I can make a more informed reply :P

Adding : I just looked at the dept of Labor rules regarding the seasonal agriculture visas available. So I do stand corrected!

I liked the part where the spokesperson said these are "honest" workers. Guess they consider being a criminal by being here illegally is considered "honest".

Also I like where they said the skin color is going from brown to black. That means more Americans are working. They may ask for more visas for Thais or wherever but they have to show a need to get the temp. visas and if there are Americans that are able and capable of doing the job then they have to hire Americans. Seems there are Americans that want to work.

Why limit the conversation to agriculture workers?

Every single (suspected) illegal I have seen flood this state worked in Construction food service. house keeping and other such jobs, I'm sure there are agricultural workers but I would bet lots of money most are not in NC.

Well, that is an approach I hadn't thought of. Leave it to Obama. Eliminate the economic incentive for illegal aliens by destroying OUR economy. Again, as I said, we better not build the fence, Americans may want to start following the Mexicans across into Mexico.

But Obama may be on to something...if he continues we will be a third world country with great medical care like Cuba, and maybe WE can all work as maids and drivers for Canadians that come here for Spring break!

What I noticed is that the departure of undocumented migrants is not producing jobs for US citizens. The slack is being taken up by importing different cheap labour.

Red herring argument. They are not being replaced by Americans because there is no work. Whereas, work-sites that have had raids and resulted in the firing of the entire staff, all now have Americans working in them.

I take offense to you downplaying the significance of someone who has willy-nilly walked into a sovereign nation, by calling them "undocumented migrants". They are illegal aliens, nothing else to it. Perhaps I carry out your surgery when you are next in need of one and call myself an "undocumented" surgeon.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Day late, and a dollar short. Blaming the economy on Obama is just as lame as it is an incorrect falsehood.
