I am a male gotten entangled in an abusive marriage to my US citizen wife and thinking of filing a VAWA self petition. There was no physical violence or police reports. The evidence I have to show abuse are mostly text messages sent by my wife to me and a report from my therapist and will also write my own affidavit. Following are some examples of text messages she sent me. There are hundreds more. Please provide me your feedback if this is sufficient evidence.

The simple thing to do would be to not read them.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I do have some other evidence. Following is list of things I have:

Evidence of abuse:

1. Texts/emails like the ones mentioned earlier

2. Letter from my therapist

3. Affidavits from 2 friends

4. My own affidavit (15 pages)

5. Medical report showing high blood pressure

Evidence of good faith marriage/joint residence:

1. Joint rental agreement

2. Joint bank account

3. Joint car insurance

4. Medical/dental/vision insurances through my job on which she is listed as dependent

5. Rental insurance

6. Cable/internet bill

7. Emails during our courtship

Evidence to show I am married to US citizen:

1. Her birth certificate

2. Our marriage certificate

3. Her divorce decree from previous marriage

Evidence of good moral character:

1. Local police reports I can get

Based on this evidence, what do you think my chances of approval are? Have any men gotten approved without showing physical abuse or police reports? Is there anything else I can do to strengthen my case?
