Hello VJers.

I am trying to figure out something for the NVC stage. Once I get my NOA2 approved and I send in my DS3032 via email and pay the bills (AOS and IV) is there a checklist that is created by NVC and sent to the beneficiary? Or is the checklist created only if you hit with an RFE.

The reason i am asking in India, the passport office will not give you a PCC without seeing a checklist from NVC. And I am trying to figure out what to do in this case. I have everything ready except for the PCC from passport office.

Is there a way to get the checklist quickly and not wait for us to get hit with a RFE. I dont want to delay the process if at all possible.

01/10/2011: Interview Date - APPROVED

j1/11/2011: Passport arrived at home.

01/25/2011: Wife Comes to USA (POE: Newark, NJ)

You may try using this checklist at the Passport office from US consulate in Mumbai :

I know it is so painful to get things done in India... They'd make you run for each and every small thing

From what I know, Ahmedabad passport office really looks for a checklist from the NVC and its really hard to get that. I will try to tell my wife to go and try it with the one you have requested but doubt it will get her anywhere.

Recently, last month one of my friend has got his PCC from ahmedabad. According to him, he has received an email from NVC about the list of documents needed to submit with DS-230. Which also clearly mentions about Passport Clearance Certificate.

I asked him in detail and found out that an email from NVC will have your case no, your birth date, your name, petitioner's name. PCC office at ahmedabad would like to see this details in specific. As per what he told me, they do require this letter from NVC or An interview letter.

I am also in the same boat, and will be required to get PCC in future, so if anyone has tried a trick to get pcc faster, please share here.

03-31-2022 - Interview letter received

04-28-2022 - Interview date at mumbai embassy
