I am completing the G-325a forms for my wife and step-son and have several questions. I hope someone here would be able to help me.

1. The father for the kid was never known. The kid's birth certificate shows a dash line in the place for the father. The mother was not married at the time of the kid's birth. So, what do I put in the G-325a form for the kid where it asks for the father information?

2. What do I put in the Wife/Husband, and the Employment areas of the G-325a for the kid?

In case that is relevant, my wife and step-son reside abroad and I am in the process of bringing them to the US.

Thank you.

hi if you dont know who is the father of your step-son YOU PUT UNKNOWN AND UNKNOWN IS THE BEST ANSWER

if your wife have a job and she do any kind of work FILL YOUR WIFE 5 YEAR WORKING PREVIOUS TO PRESENT JOB DETAIL

if your wife cannot have a job and she stay in home FILL HOUSE WIFE

if your step-son have a job FILL 5 YEAR JOB DETAIL PREVIOUS TO PRESENT AND WHEN YOU FILL FORM MENTION DATE AND YEAR AND REMEMBER DONT PUT ANY GAP BETWEEN MONTH AND YEAR IF THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN MONTH AND YEAR DURING YOUR STEP-SON OR YOUR WIFE JOB OR SHE OR HE UNEMPLOYED FOR EXAMPLE 3 OR 6 MONTH OR YEAR MENTION UNEMPLOYED WITH DATE AND MONTH

if your step son student FILL AND PUT NA AND TAKE PLAIN PAPER AND MENTION AND WRITE OF YOUR STEP-SON WITH QUESTION NO THAT YOUR STEP-SON READ IN SCHOOL OR COLLEGE AND HE IS STUDENT

AND TAKE AND TAKE PLAIN PAPER AND MENTION ABOUT YOUR STEP SON WITH QUESTION NO. THAT YOUR STEP-SON FATHER IS UNKNOW AND MENTION ALL DETAIL ABOUT YOUR STEP-SON AND HIS MOTHER AND WHAT EVER DETAIL IS

The kid is only 12 and he is in middle school.

So what do I put in the wife/husband sections of the form G-325a? "NONE" or "NOT APPLICABLE"?

In the employment section, do I put something like "Middle school student"?

In the section for the kid's father - Do I put "UNKNOWN" in each field on that line, or only in the first field for the surname?

Thanks!

minors do not need G325a.

My kids are 12 and 9 and it wasn't required.

I suspected this. However I can't find a reference to that.

Instructions to I-130 don't say anything about the age of a minor where G-325a is not required.

Would you be so helpful and tell me where that is written, please?

Thank you very much.

Not sure where it was written, but I did no G 325 for the 2 boys ( 16 and 11 at the time ) let me look around.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

In the I-130 instruction look at number 8 for WHAT DOCUMENTS YOU NEED it states

8. Stepparent/Stepchild: If your petition is based on a stepparent-stepchild relationship, you must file your petition with a copy of the marriage certificate of the stepparent to the child's natural parent showing that the marriage occurred before the child's 18th birthday, copies of documents showing that any prior marriages were legally terminated and a copy of the stepchild's birth certificate

No mention of the G-325 for a stepparent relationship or even that of a child only mention of the G-325 is for a spouse,

You won't find where it says it's not needed. It's simply not listed AS needed in the I-130 instructions. Study and follow them carefully for best results.

You do not file G325a forms for children. They are only for a spouse or fiance(e). Please disregard false answer above.

Indeed. Thank you all for answers, I really appreciate this.

After further reading about it in the I-130 instructions and other sources, it appears indeed that when bringing

your family members to the US from outside the US you do not need G-325a for your children, siblings, or parents.

You only need it for your spouse/fiancee. The information asked in the G-325a is provided later in the DS-230 form.
