Hello all,

We received our NOA2 on May 5th, 2010 and are now waiting for the NVC to receive it. My questions is on the NOA2 it states that the above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions regarding visa issuance. Does this mean it is going directly to the consulate instead of the NVC? Any help on clearing up the confusion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help,

John

All petitions must go through the NVC before going on to the foreign consulate. Our letter said that too but we in fact were held up at the NVC for 50 days.

You should call the NVC and ask if your package has been sent on to Manila yet.

I contacted the NVC this morning and spoke to an operator. They have no record of the case but when I read her the paragraph that says my petition has been forwarded to the US Consulate she recommended that I contact the USCIS to verify that they sent it directly to the US Consulate. The representative at USCIS seemed to believe that it was sent to the US Consulate. I noticed on our NOA2 that there is a number above the beneficiary. I am wondering if this is the case number? I guess if it has to go to the NVC then I will have to wait for them to verify that they received it. Otherwise, I guess I can call the US Consulate to see if they received it....

This is what my NOA2 says:

"The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC), 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909. The USCIS has completed all action; further inquiries should be directed to the NVC.

The NVC now processes all approved fiance(e) petitions. The NVC processing should be complete within two to four weeks after receiving the petition from USCIS. The NVC will create a case record with your petition information. NVC will then send the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiance (e) will be interviewed for his or her visa.

You will receive notification by mail when NVC has sent your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The notification letter will provide you with a unique number for your case and the name and address of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your petition has been sent.

If it has been more than four weeks since you received this approval notice and you have not received notification from NVC that your petition has been forwarded overseas, please call NVC at (603) 334-0700. Please call between 8:00am-6:45pm Eastern Standard Time. You will need to enter the USCIS receipt number from this approval notice into the automated response system to receive information on your petition.

The approval of this visa petition does not in itself grant any immigration status and does not guarantee that the alien beneficiary will subsequently be found to be eligible for a visa, for admission to the United States, or for an extension, change, or adjustment of status.

THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA NOR MAY IT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA."

I just tried calling NVC to get an update on my case and I am getting a busy signal.:(

I spoke with another representative at USCIS today and asked her to verify where the petition was sent. She verified that it was sent to the consulate like the notice says. I also noticed that they assigned an A# which is listed on the NOA2 hard copy above the beneficiary. I will be contacting the consulate now to see if they have received it. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the help,

John

These people sucks!!

When I called USCIS on this issue, as they delayed in sending my package to NVC, ONE OF ASSWHOLE OPERATOR told me that sometime they send it directly to foreign consulate, and don't go through NVC, and said this after she ask me to read my NOA2 statement.

Which is RUBBISH or WRONG!! They should be fired for giving out the wrong info!!

Bottom line ,after NOA2 it has to go through NVC and then they send it to your foreign embassy!!

USCIS need to change the wording, of NOA2, instead of "foreign embassy" , it should be "send to NVC"

HTH!!

Ok, I heard back from the US Consulate and they have no record of our case. So that means it has been delayed in being sent to the NVC by the USCIS. I have also sent them an email and I am waiting for a reply. Well, at least the mystery is over. Thanks for all the replys

When I called the NVC about our case, I was quite surprised to learn that our package entered, and cleared, the NVC on the same day. According to the person at the NVC, the file is sent electronically first, then the hard copies follow.

Good luck!

Thank you. I finally got through and NVC said they received it on the 20th and they sent it out on the 21st. I did the case number decipher thing and the date was the 20th. Then i tried the DHL tracking thing and it appears the package was actually shipped out on the 24th.

Hello All,

I spoke to a representative at the USCIS and was sent to another call center where I explained my situation and was given a confirmation number for my inquiry. I also talked to a half way intelligent individual at the NVC that verified that even though the approval notice said it was sent to the consulate that it will go to the NVC so that they can give it a folder and assign a case number as many of you have suggested. Unfortunately, I am now going to have to wait as long as it takes to get a response from the research team. Wish us luck, we are praying that it wasn't lost along the way.

Hi There,

I seem to be having the same experience as you in regards to the NOA2 taking longer than expected. How did you resolve the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

John
