How long does it usually take for an interview?

My case was completed at the NVC on June 23rd and i received an email from the US Embassy in London which stated the following:

Administrative processing of your visa application was completed on the 6th July

2006.You should receive notification of an interview appointment date within

the next 6 to 8 weeks.

How much longer do you think i have to wait? Can i contact anyone to find out whats happening?

Thanks for any help, the type of Visa is a CR-1.

Start to call the DOS 202-663-1225 then press 1, 1, 0 to get through the menu quickly. I called them on Wed. and Fridays. They can tell you when an interview date is set. You should know something within a couple of weeks. Expect your interview within the next 10 weeks at most, hopefully sooner since the summer rush is probably over.

Edited to say: Sorry missed your date in July, definetly call DOS tomorrow morning you may already have an interview date.
