T.G.I. not Monday anymore! Hope everyone is well.

It's been unbelievablely hot the past couple of days. We had a new record high of 95 yesterday and the humidity ain't nothin' nice. The man from Egypt said he hoped that yesterday was the hottest it would get here in Minnesota, LOL! Minnesota weather is always an adventure devil.gif

Anyhow, hope everyone has a great day.

Well, Adams doc visit didnt go as I had hoped... Doc said his heart rate was lower than normal and wanted to do 5 different tests on him... ranging in price from $150 - $375 each ($1,200 all together) .... so we didnt do any of them. The office said it had to be paid out of pocket since he hadnt met his deductible yet for the year. We might set $200 aside in month or two to do the stress test, but just realistically dont have that kind of money for each test.

Tamara,

Can Adam go to a county hospital? That doesnt sound like something I would take lightly. I know sometimes docs wanna run a bunch of tests but if Adam isnt feeling well I would try to maybe get a 2nd opinion

Tamara,

Can Adam go to a county hospital? That doesnt sound like something I would take lightly. I know sometimes docs wanna run a bunch of tests but if Adam isnt feeling well I would try to maybe get a 2nd opinion

Well, the thing is he went to the family doc 2 weeks ago and had an EKG which read his heart rate was low. He also showed that family doc last years reading of the EKG. So our family doc asked Adam to go see a cardiologist. He did an EKG which read a lower heart rate, added in the fact that Adams dad died in his late 50s of 3 heart attacks, his mom had heart surgery when she was younger, he gets a shocking feeling in his feet and chest pains, low blood pressure and will get dizzy. The Cardiologist said with all those things in his favor it could be any number of things, thats why he suggested 5 different tests.

Adam has health insurance, but hasnt met the $1250 deductible for the year yet, so they office was saying we would have to pay up front for any tests the doc did. Each test cost $150 for the heart monitor, $200 for a stress test, $200 to check an artery in his neck, $350 for ultrasound of heart & $375 for something with electrodes or whatever. We cant afford any of them right now or probably for even the next month or thereafter, so we left feeling frustrated and without any answers.

Tamara,

The doctor isn't willing to bill you for the tests or make a payment arrangement? I would shop around for another doctor who would be willing to do this. Heart disease is nothing to mess with. I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for you and your husband.

"The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
