Question About Plane Tickets

I've been shopping for one way tickets for my fiancee and am finding that one way tickets are just as expensive and in some cases more expensive than round trip tickets.

Does anyone think there would be a problem if I purchased a round trip ticket for her with the intent on only using one leg of the trip?

Of course this is dependent upon us getting approved for the visa.

Thanks

I've done it before. Just call the airline a couple of days before she theoretically would return to Colombia, although there probably will be no refund. If you just knowshow there really should not be any consequences as long as you don't make a habit of it. I also know people that think really far ahead and know that they will want to return for a visit and buy their round trip ticket accordingly, so the return leg is for when they would like to return to their country of origin for a short visit. I've always found it kind of weird that airlines don't at least make one way tickets the same price.

If you are worried about it, just call the airlines' customer service and I am sure that they would be able to answer any questions.

Mike,

You can purchase either one, round trip or one way, whichever you want.

it's no a problem Mike, many people do it. Just a tip, when you book the return date, choose a date two or three months later.

Yes looking online a one way is more expensive yet I have found if you call around to the airlines and travel agents, etc . google cheap tickets you will find a one way to be cheaper. You have to do the work and find it. So I found with Ghana at least that was the case!
