As you know my husband went up for interview this afternoon and they said I did not make enough money and they needed someone else to sponsor him. Okay I found the I-864 got someone to help me in that matter Thank God now I am lost with what they are asking from my husband. This is what they checked off on the from they gave him original court records/translation, original police record/translation, signed affidavit of support on form I-864 from the sponsor, copies of the sponsor's most recent federal tax returns(from1040) or an IRS-generated transcript, medical examination report, photographs (two photographs between 28mm and 35mm)and then on the other paper under other it says DS-230 now that is where I am lost why are they asking for another DS-230 and I don't remember what that form is...when I filled all that out before someone was helping me and they are no longer here to help me so I am turning to you guys. Please help me with anything you can. It's like this three year nightmare is almost over and I don't want to make any mistakes. Thanks again

The DS-230 is the immigration application that was filled out for your husband without signing the second page. Sounding familiar now?

Did you file for a CR1 visa for your husband?

If so, then basically they are asking for all new paperwork it sounds like. Has it been awhile since he has had all that done?

Lemme get you the link for the DS 230- DS 230 Tell your husband to go out first thing tomorrow morning and get new copies of all the required forms he needs- the court document, the police record, and to call the doctor he went to to see if they can send copies of his medical exam results to the consulate. The DS 230 is a form you have to print and fill out and then you can overnight it to him along with the affidavit of support and it's attachments when they are ready.. you should tell your co sponsor to call the IRS right away to get the transcripts, they take 7-10 business days to reach you, and also to contact their bank for the statements ASAP because they take a little while to generate too.. Don't panic, this is doable.. the forms are all very straight forward and not difficult to fill out. You can do this.

Are you sure they want you to just fill another DS-230 out or is that you are missing a part of the DS-230, because I believe it was 2 parts Part I and II. Part I gets signed, part II shouldn't get signed, because your husband will have to sign it in front of the CO. The following documents should be included when submitting the DS-230: Birth Certificate, Court and/or Prison Records, Marriage Certificate, Petitioner Documents, Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page and Police Certificate. All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the: Translation is accurate, and Translator is competent to translate. When submitting the I-864 (which should be signed and dated), you should include W2s 3 years worth, 3 years worth income Tax Returns, pay stubs 6 months worth and proof of employment letter on company letterhead signed and dated by authorized company representative. Also, if there is a joint sponsor he/she will have to fill out an additional I-864 and include all the documents w2s pay stubs, tax returns and employment letter.

Yes I am sure this is what they are asking from him it's on the 221g. I know sounds crazy but that is what they are requesting. Thanks

That is a pretty ridiculous request, if they want all that stuff in less than a week. It takes at least a couple weeks just to get tax transcripts, unless your co-sponsor happens to have a copy of their last 3 years of tax returns!

Not really - if you use turbotax they can be downloaded in an instant. That is what happened to us at the USEM in Buenos Aires - we went down to the internet cafe and printed the last 4 tax returns off that morning and returned that afternoon. It is a fantastic resource.

Well, that is assuming that everyone files their taxes online, which many people still do not. But hopefully the OP's co-sponsor does. Our co-sponsor did not, so we had to wait for the tax transcripts, which took about two weeks.

Well things are not going as I had hoped. I have been at this since yesterday and we finally found the correct I-864 form that my brother-in-law is suppose to fill out..we had thought it was the I-864A but nope wrong one..so now I have to wait till tomorrow to get that from mailed off to me. I have to redo his DS-230 due to a few changes but lucky for me I found all my copies from the last time I sent them out. I just hope to get all this to him as soon as possible. Thanks

sorry for the shock - but sounds like they want to see 'all new documentation' that was submitted during NVC process.

and apparently, I do mean 'all' - I-864, DS-230, with supporting documents / civil documents and a new co-sponser I-864 as well.

Don't sweat the wording in the 221(g) - but

DO GET IT ALL TO THEM, SOONISH !! Have a local friend review all before you hand it over, you might miss something in the rush.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
