I haven't been on this site in awhile. I hope all is well with everyone and good luck in everyone's process. I have scenario that maybe some of you can help out on.

My wife has her Temp Green Card and she plans in changing her last name to mine finally. What is the best procedure for this since she needs to change her Polish passport as well before Sept 2010.

Is it best to go to Social Security first and get the change. Once that is complete go to Immigration to change my wife's last name for her Temp green card?

Once all thats complete talk to the Polish embassey to change/update her passport.

Please advise

Missy K

is her GC in her married name right now? If not you will need to pay $300-ish to have the name changed and a new card sent out. OR you can wait till removal of conditions and do it then (i.e. completing the forms in new name).

the SsA is only supposed to issue cards in the same name the immigration stuff is so if her greencard says her maiden name then that's what her ssn will be.

If she wants it changed she should change her GC, then her SSN and then her Polish passport. That's what I will be doing with my stuff (except Aussie passport not Polish :D)
