OT enforcement

39 members have voted

  1. 1. I would like OT to be managed as following:

    • Full enforcement equal to all other subforums of Visa Journey
    • Keep it as it is.
    • No TOS enforcement
  2. 2. Are you less likely to post in OT because of the current format?

    • Yes
    • No, I already post there
    • No, I have no interest in OT
    • Yes, but I post anyway

No, it was in fact the total lack of social derelicts that most seemed to find boring - not the other way around. The only social derelict who posted was Eric and he kept the place alive which actually shocked me to be honest and of course as soon as the whingers created rules, those of us who wanted a place without rules had no further interest in it.

Interesting take on it. That's not how I remember it. There's nothing stopping people from bringing it back to life then...except that there's not enough people who are interested in hanging out in a virtual playground. Eventually, everyone grows up...one hopes.

 Oh, your not so subtle digs. Yet, I am not the one who is trying to persuade people to 'play' in a way that suits me. Talk about not being grown up, let people be who they are and ignore those who get on your tits. Very simple.

MC, that was not directed at you. I remember years ago, you were one of the most articulate and well thought out posters in OT, but later on you loosened up a bit and joined in on some of the playground antics as I have as well. The consequence, however, is that the overall tone in OT has changed where every thread becomes an opportunity to antagonize or harass one another. Again, I've done this as well. I could go on doing it, but honestly, I'd rather engage in adult conversations with other adults who behave like civil adults.

I do not believe there is anything stopping you from doing just that. Yes, threads get hijacked, but you do not have to engage with the people who hijack threads UNLESS you want to. Sometimes I want to, sometimes I do not, that's my choice. Yours could be to never engage in ####### for tat banter with those who like to do that, and simply ignore everything that they post in that manner.

I really don't get why you think you need to have all the bickering posts eliminated in order to have a discussion. Those who want to discuss things will do so if they really are interested. I know, all the white noise, but that's how it is.

I like you and respect most of your opinions Steve, but I take each opinion on merit, I don't see your name and automatically give your post respect. On this I think you are misguided. You can't change who people are, all you can do is encourage the type of behaviours you feel are appropriate by example, not by force.

Face it. Except in a crisis, adult conversation is boring.

And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."

I agree that it can be boring, but so can acting like children on a playground as we saw happen with the experiment. Let the light-hearted discussions be what they are and keep the playground antics out of the more serious discussions.

Do you really believe that's how it happened? It got boring when there was nothing for people to get pissy about, not because there was too much ####### for tat pissyness. That makes me sad, but I get it.

No. What's a legacy member anyway?

A legacy member is one who is no longer being actively developed. Rather, they are in maintenance/sustaining mode. The next step is EOL (end of life) after they are replaced by a more modern member.
