Hello VJER's!!!

My visa was approved today. Thanks to everyone for all the support!!! I am soooo excited. My hubby came to Jamaica to join me. We went inside the embassy about 7:30am. However, we never got called to the window for the actual interview until about 10:30am. I was asked:

Do you have a visitor's visa? [CO canceled that visa before asking any further questions - that was scary. LOL]

Then he told my husband to take a seat while he ask me a few questions. Told me to take up the phone.

Here are the questions I can remember:

How did you meet?

When did you meet?

How many times have you been to the US?

What was the longest period that you ever stayed in the US?

When was the last time you visited the US?

Where did you stay the first time you visited your husband?

How often does your husband visit Jamaica?

How long does he usually stays?

Where did he stay the first time he came?

Does he send you money? How much? How often?

What does your husband do for work?

Have you ever lived outside Jamaica?

Have you ever been arrested?

May I have your passport? The most recent one please.

Once I gave that to CO he gave me the ticket to go to DHL to arrange for the delivery. Paid DHL and my hubby and I were just so excited!! He never asked to see any evidence from the nicely arranged expanding file I brought with so much stuff. Weird. We never front-loaded the I-130 with any pictures etc and the CO didn't ask for anything else. He never asked to speak to my husband either. It was a smooth process. Thanks to all VJER's.

Thanks everyone, for your congratulations. I hope July goes well for all of us.

A question - They didn't give Mrs. Matrix the famous "sealed envelope" that dare not be opened. She is a bit concerned that she may have misplaced it?

India interviewees, did you receive it along with your passport from VFS? Or did you get it at the consulate?

Congratulations on the approval! When is her POE?

Congratulations on the approval! When is her POE?

Thanks! 26th of July, a week from now, hopefully. She still has to collect her PP and stuff from VFS (the agency that handles the mailings in India). But her ticket is booked.

Congrats MaryLan and thanks for the congrats from all of you!!! :thumbs:

I can vaguely remember 12 months ago, saying good bye to my Wife and being SO naive that I thought I would be living with her in the US before Christmas. How wrong I was.

I also remember embarking upon this long, tedious process - "I-130? What the hell is that? Do I fill it out, or does she?" ... If it weren't for the abundance of information on this site, or the knowledge shared by all members, then I'm sure I'd still be trying to understand what the I-130 is and how we get started. That, or I would have hired an over-payed, over-stressed, couldn't-give-a-damn-about-me lawyer!

If anyone is ever over in California, feel free to drop a line. We can have lunch, a few drinks and laugh at the stories shared through the USCIS/NVC/Interview process :dance: :dance:

Good luck to those who have their interviews in the coming days, weeks and months.
