Good afternoon everyone,

Me and my spouse went to the embassy and made first interview on the 23rd of September 2009. Received the package 1 week later, but i didn't send it yet, almost 8 months went by. Hopefully i should be able to send it this week God willing.

I asked the embassy what is the time limit to send the package back and they replied:

Please note that you need to send the packet of instructions as soon as possible to enable us to continue processing the case.

Seems ok, but i heard that i only had 4 months to send it back, is it true ? Did i miss the chance ?

Thank you for your help.

It would help if you could complete a timeline so we know exactly what is going on.

You say you had an interview at the embassy. What was the result of the interview?

What package did you receive after the interview? Not sure what package you are refering to or where you are in the process.

it all depends on if they set a specific date for you to return the info... if they did not, you could have up to 1 year to submit the info.... each consulate is different and this is the posted policy at the consulate we dealt with...

It makes sense now... Imeant the timeline function in VJ.. not so much a text version...

The stage you are at provides 1 year for you to respond in most consulates, Egypt does not specify... You very likely have no issues present at this point given it has only been 8 months... it can often take some couples a long time to gather the information required...

Call them 0900-70600 see what they say...
