Hey Guys - Long time no see ...

My wife (Neetu) has been in the USA for about 1 yr and 10 months. I should have sent in the paperwork last month but career-related stuff didn't let me/us ... Long story short, I've been putting stuff together to send in.

Neetu and I live at home with my parents and the house is in their name. Given that, it is not a form of 'proof' for us. I haven't bought the house outright given 1) cost, 2) current market conditions, and 3) more advantageous financially to the family as a whole for Dad to keep it in his name (pretty traditional cultural thing in Indian families).

The question is - do I mention this in my cover letter or just ignore it and hope for no RFE/interview?

The proof I have is:

Proof of Neetu's name/address - Drivers License copy, greencard copy, pay stubs, non-joint credit card with our address, etc.

3 joint bank accounts with statements for the last 1.5 years (5-6 per account) and most recent activity printouts for two of them (to show active direct deposits from my wife and I)

Photocopies of the fronts of three credit cards where we have joint usage (my name on one and hers on the other)

Proof of my wife as my beneficiary for disability and life insurance.

Proof of my insurance card as having two people (including my wife).

Multiple airline/hotel itineraries (10 trips taken together since marriage!)

Multiple photocopied photos (15 or so)

Almost forgot - I plan to print out tax return summaries for the last 2 years (we filed married filing jointly) as proof, as well.

What else would be recommended and would I be okay with these things and WITHOUT mentioning the mortgage issue?

Any feedback is appreciated - I think we're good with this stuff ... I was looking at the number of pages people were saying and was thinking I'd barely have any - but with all the statements and print outs - it's probably about 75 or more ... (lots of useless extra pages in there from Orbitz itinerary email prints - it's 3 pages of junk and one page with the actual itinerary - maybe I should discard the three useless pages from each itinerary... )

Even bank statements have wasted paper in them but those list that there are 4 pages total, so I don't want to skip any pages there to avoid suspicion of something weird going on ;) lol

Feedback please :)

"We still live in the same home in Newark, NJ, with my parents; . . . ."

That covers it in passing without making it an issue.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Thanks for the input, Bob - anyone with feedback on whether we have enough information/proof? I heard the affidavits are not as 'important' so I didn't go after getting those ... I hope that's okay ...

No need to bring up the mortgage issue. We didn't do anything on that either, since I bought the house long before we even met, and I didn't feel like rattling the mortgage companies' cages when the loans are almost paid off. You have enough documents showing that you both live at the same place, and spend each other's money, so you should be okay. Keep it simple (one or two statements from each account), and don't sweat it. Tax returns should either be photocopies of the signed returns (1040(_) needed only) or tax transcripts.

We were in a similar situation, and we wrote that we lived with our parents in our cover letter, and we included affadavits from our parents stating the same.
