Hi,

On the I-751 signature lines, who should sign as the spouse? It seems like the U.S. citizen should sign as the spouse (2nd line) and the immigrant whose conditions are to be removed should sign on the top line. However, it is not entirely clear to me.

Thanks,

John

You are correct - the signature is the GC holders signature - or the applicant. The spouse would be the US citizen.

hmmm, just looked at the form i-751 and it requires spouse's signatures... in my case I'm currenlty not in the US and my wife will be filling and sending the packet. What are my options ? Can I fill-out the application, sign it and then fax it to my wife so she can then sign it and mail it???

Please advise!

I think the form requires an original signature in black ink. Also you may want to sign your cover letter as well.

I would recommend you sign the paperwork and then mail it to your wife.

Agreed. Otherwise, they will consider the signature invalid and you have to go through another package.
