Hello,

I am not sure if anyone can advise on this...

I am wondering at POE which address my fiancé should be reporting. I am a resident of Texas for the past 19 years, I own a home there, plus my company is there as well, but of the past 2 years I been working off and on in Chicago. I do have an apartment rented and I spend at least 10 months in Chicago.

All our papers we used the Texas address because I was always worried what if my company move me to another location. So now as we going to file, which address should we reporting? Does he have to decide the address at POE or I can change it when I submit the papers.

Please let me know

Thanks

Batta

If you spend most of the year in Chicago and you have an apartment there, you should've probably used that address for the paperwork. How have you gotten your notices forwarded to you from Texas? Which airport will be the POE? Do you know what it says on your fiance's visa as far as where he's going to? For example, my husband's visa says something like "Joining wife in XX". If it says something like that you may want to report the address as what it says on his visa. However, if his POE is Chicago O'Hare and he doesn't have a connecting flight elsewhere they may ask why. So I guess you could contact USCIS and change his address to the Chicago address or leave it as is and have him state the Texas address. Personally, I would have him state the Texas address and if you plan on staying in Chicago full time, file an AR-11. We've moved twice since my husband's been in the US and have filed two AR-11s (change of address forms). It's easy to do and USCIS doesn't contact you about it. We did this post permanent residency so that's probably why, lol. Sorry if that didn't help but it's what I would do.
