Hello..on 5/21/10, my fiance received his Packet 3 on 5/21/10. The letter referred to the fiance visa, but called it the K3/K4 visa, which is incorrect since we are applying for the K1. I emailed the NVC to alert them to this error, is there anything else I should do?

Also, with the original I-129F papers, I had submitted an original Police Record for him. I only retained a photocopy. Packet 3 clearly states that they need an ORIGINAL form or certified copy plus a photocopy. I emailed NVC about this, since there is an original in the initially submitted paperwork. But today my fiance went to the Police Dept to reapply and again paid the 10 pounds to get another original Police Record. But the police rep showed him that there is a second type of Police Record report request that costs 35 pounds and she said was for Visa applications for US and Australia..does anyone know if there is a different kind of Criminal Records letter needed for a visa application? Or are we okay requesting the 10 pound one, which an original of was submitted with our initial paperwork to the CSC? Any assistance would be much appreciated...Thanks. Victoria

Your fiance needs an ACRO (the expensive one) the other one is a CRB which is used by bodies who employ people working with children and vulnerable adults. In order to get a US visa you need the ACRO. You also don't send these documents in with the P3 - I know it's confusing but the only things you needed to send were the forms. Any other documentation (along with photocopies of said documentation) you just take along to the interview.

Hope that helps. There's an application form available online.

Thanks! Since I posted that, on the same day we figured out the more expensive Police Record was the right one..and he got all the photos and the verification sigs and the proof of addys and its off in the post..

What about the fact that the Letter he got said K3/K4 instead of K1..I emailed the NVC with the question..but how can I get a corrected letter for him? Id hate to have any confusion at the embassy on what visa we are applying for..thanks if anyone has any insight!
