make sure you do NOT do the things those ppl got an RFE for.

Take 1/2 day, read it all, make copious notes. Then read your notes - twice !

Remember - this is that DIY 'stance', so you need to read !

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi there, does anyone have any tips or stories they can share on an error they made in their I-130 process or common problems they found? I'd like to know as much as possible before starting mine. Thanks for reading, kind regards.

This may sound too simple but the most common error in filing any immigration related petition is failure to carefully read and follow the petition instructions. An amazing percentage of petitioners never even download and/or glance at the instructions before they start filling out forms.

More specifically though, I see a lot of.

1. Petitioner fails to provide G325a for themselves

2. Petitioner fails to list children of beneficiary when they have no intention to immigrate

3. Spouse cases where the petitioner fails to file I-130 for child or children

4. Not realizing K3 is dead
