My Fiancee is currently trying to round up her immunization records, and it is really tough on her, she went to 2 hospitals and all the hospital employees were just passing the buck and saying, no speak to this person, and when she did, they said no wrong person, speak to this person. So after running around all day, she had nothing accomplished. Does anyone know of a good place to get this done, she lives in Tver currently, but her parents are moving to Khimki (Moscow Sheremeytevo Area)in the next few weeks. So it could be in Tver or Moscow.

Anybody have any ideas or tips around this?

Her interview will likely be coming soon and we want to get ahead of this situation as much as possible.

Thanks

If you're asking where we'd advise your SO to go in order to collect her records with the greatest ease, I'm sorry to disappoint. I do believe all her records will have to be obtained from the clinics and hospitals where she received service.

If, on the other hand, you're looking for a clinic at which she can get new shots, I'd recommend seeking out a private medical clinic in her town or a nearby city. Make sure your SO notes that she'll need to take her records with her. Be sure to do this ASAP as some of the vaccinations may require boosters.

This was actually the easiest thing we did. We went to the local hospital in Donetsk, asked for all the records and they were pulled out and handed to us immediately...for Alla AND both boys! Obviously not a typical situation? What about a bribe? A few bucks to someone usually gets them a little more interested in looking at least. It is really great if you have these for the medical.

FYI you do not need them for a K visa but you WILL need them for the AOS or you will have to have tests and/or repeat vaccines and a civil surgeon sign off on everything. Not the end of the world, but just an nuisance and expense.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately, she is from Kirovograd, and has lived there, in Siberia, in Moscow and lots of other places, so I dont think that will work, but she didnt know that the vaccinations expired, so she will need a few

I really appreciate this, this takes a LOAD off of my mind. And I know Yana is freaking out about it, she likes to have everything planned 100% 2 months in advance, so this dealing with the government is driving her nuts.

Well honestly, I would rather have her do everything here, because I have insurance and I have a doctor, so Im sure we could find something here.

It amazes me how people can be in the moscow area, they just dont care, its their job, but they dont care. Its weird because, the time I spent in Saint Petersburg was completely different, people were nicer there, a much larger number of people spoke english rather well.

Anyways, I really appreciate it, Yes we were under the impression that she needed this for the K-1 visa, but if that is not the case then We are good.

The other thing you can do, and I suggest it if she can't get the records, is to go to a doctor there and have repeat vaccines (none of them will hurt you to have them again) or titre tests for immunities. Get them now and bring the results to the medical exam if you have a few weeks to spare. It will be much cheaper to do it there. The doctor at the medical exam will transcribe this onto the DS3025 form and that is all you will need for the AOS after she arrives.

Expect this to cost $400-$1000 in the USA. Get the updated list of needed vaccines from USCIS website. It is a convoluted thing, this list. So read it carefully and see what vaccines apply to your fiancee.

But in any case she WILL get her visa, with or without vaccines.

IF you plan to do it here, then start checking on this now. ANY doctor can give the vaccines BUT a Civil Surgeon MUST sign off on the I-693. The majority of these Civil Surgeons are highway robbers who will charge you for the vaccines even if someone else gave them or at minimum charge you for an un-needed medical exam. They simply don't just sign off on the I-693 and let someone else cash in. Also it is very unlikely your insurance is going to cover adult immunizations which they will say are unnecessary.

Check it out anyway, do not assume you can do what you plan to do here.

Medical care is always cheaper in the FSU. Alla is there now and is having dental work done. She has her dental work and eye exams done in Ukraine still. we go there at least once a year (usually twice) so she just schedules these things for when she is there. She will buy a years supply of contact lenses also at 1/3 the best internet price we can find here.

Never be surprised at the level of un-caring in the FSU. Those people get paid very small money (wghich is why bribery is so rampant) and they simply DO NOT care. Ever try to call a government agency in Russia or Ukraine? The employees take the phones off the hooks when they arrive! They have a saying "We pretend to work and the government pretends to pay us".

I know exactly what you mean about the level of caring about their jobs over there.

She just emailed me this morning, that she found a place to give her the vaccines, she thought she had them, but turns out that they have expired already, Yes I got the list of vaccines off of this site, so we will hustle and hopefully get all of her shots so she can go to the medical exam.

Thanks again. ps. it took me a while to get what FSU was, haha

And you will soon learn WHY the cold war lasted 50 years and be completely dumbfounded as to how we ever won!
