So ok I paid the $131 fee through Scotia Bank like the Vancouver Consulate told me to. I have my interview on the 17th of June. Am I going to have to go pay more money even though I already paid!?

From what I have read, yes you will have to pay the difference...Sucks I know

Wow that is kind of ridiculous. I guess they can do whatever they want but I am sure everyone is upset about how expensive everything already is! Ugh just another nonsense expense.

This affects me directly as my interview is in June. However i am just glad that it is not in the thousands at the end of the day in the whole grand scheme of things and extra $200 isn't going to kill us and there's nothing we can do about it anyway. Try to stay positive because that $350 means that all being well a few weeks after you stump up the cash you get to be with your fiance. You can't put a price on happiness, however visa's you can . In addition we do not know how many man hours is actually put into our visa applications behind the scenes, maybe this price increase will mean they can hire a few more people and make the process quicker and smoother for others who will apply in the future. Just my two cents

You are right, it is ridiculous.. I would not be at upset at all if I was getting my case processed, but we are still waiting on our NOA2..

But, one could say it did get a grandfathering, of sorts.

Most people doing K-1, by this point, who applied before the change was announced in December, have been in and out with a verdict by now.

K-1 is now a very expensive option, and financially speaking, i dont see why anyone should now want to apply for a K-1, unless they're an oddball case like we were, who cant marry in the non-USC's country.

#######, and here i was thinking we may have just beet them..... well, not much more can be done about it now.

I don't care how much it's going to cost, all I'm saying is they need to do their job. We have been waiting for over three months (right at four) now on our NOA2. If someone comes to clean my house, I'm going to pay them. If they do a half a## job they gone get half a## pay. So to me at this point they are doing a half a## job, but I have to pay them..

From what I understand you MIGHT have to. This is the important line: "Applicants will have to pay the full fee in effect on the day they apply, regardless of when they pay." Though it doesn't explain what they mean by "day they apply" because it could be:

- day of the interview

- day you return P3 and get your interview date (this is what I personally believe it will be)

Those that have the interview coming up AFTER the date and have already been advised of it and paid the lower fee, like MeggyMo, can you advise us when you have your interview what happened? Whether they asked you to pay or not?
